SPECULATION Could the child of Skywalker still be out there? My wish.

I love Luke Skywalker. I'm guessing most of you do too. It's why all of us are so passionate about why we have loved or hated the ST so far. I personally really loved seeing Luke come "back to life" after cutting himself off from the force in TFA.

For me though, the one thing that makes me sad about the sequels so far is that Luke seems to have lived a very unfulfilling life. I always imagined him changing the Jedi code, finding a good woman, and having a family. I want that for him and it has been sad to imagine that he has lived a lonely life then died alone on an island. I don't need his child to be Rey, I'm happy with her being a "nobody". I don't even need his child to be a Jedi. I just want to know he had a child. Or at least tried, you know?

So far Lucasfilm has been intentionally silent on Luke's forgotten years. My only wish for Ep 9 is that we at least get a mention of Luke's life - a wife, children, something that keeps him attached this world. Someone that brought him joy. You could even introduce his child at the end of this trilogy as a launching point for a new trilogy, I don't care. But Luke wasn't an emotionless Jedi training robot. No way that's how he spent the last 30 years of his life.

I think that ship has sailed. There won’t be another Skywalker in this trilogy. Do I wish Luke had a child? Yes, but I think it won’t happen, it’s to late into introduce that.

You're probably right. But it doesn't have to be too late unless they want it that way. Sure, this trilogy isn't about Luke's children. That doesn't mean Luke can't have children though. I will hold out hope.

There's no indication of that, but I wish there was a child of Luke Skywalker out there, and he or she was a decent person who had many of their father's qualities. It would be nice to have at least one decent legacy character from the "big 3." Instead of the evil, deranged, emo offspring of Han and Leia as the only legacy character left.:(

I think it would be far more likely that Ben has a son or daughter (not with Rey) in the next movie and that after his defeat (and maybe death), that child is taken to be raised on the light side and that child would be the continuing of the "Skywalker" legacy even if it's name is Solo.

I appreciate your concern! I'm not worried about that though. It's fair to say Ep7 and 8 definitely didn't align with my expectations but I enjoyed them both a lot. If Ep 9 is similar then I probably won't get what I want but I'll enjoy it anyway!

I can see that as a possibility and it would be a fulfilling arc for Kylo. But it definitely wouldn't scratch my itch to know that Luke lived some sort of fulfilling life. The Luke of the Original Trilogy took the Jedi order seriously, but he put family and friends first. He was definitely not the type to become a stoic Monk.

I just had a thought. What if he had a child at his academy when Ben turned? Now that child is either dead or a KoR, or possibly on the run (although I find it hard to imagine how a child can escape Luke for all these years, unless he believed he was dead.).

Personally, if they wanted Luke to have a child, I'd guess Rey or dead would be the most likely options. It would be kind of strange having another heavy story like that introduced this far into the trilogy, and with Luke dead no less. Maybe his child died even earlier, and Luke suspected foul play from Ben, which would at least help appease Creepy Luke a little bit.

Here is the biggest problem with Rey Random and/or killing all of the family of the Chosen One.

    Ahem.....

    It cheapens the Skywalker family.

I like this idea. I did joke a while back that Kylo had a wild night on Canto Bight and knocked up a cocktail waitress and he was the father of broom boy. Can we get that rumor started all over the internet?:D "Broom boy Solo CONFIRMED." ;)

I'm pretty sure the SJ.....I mean Story Group, wants Luke to remain a Virgin.

Note. I have nothing against virgins.

new theory: Rey is actually the Solo. Ben Solo/Kylo Ren was never Han Solo's kid.
because: times. It's 2018. What do you have against adulterers?

    Maybe.

Personally, I think that making the Skywalkers' just a hollow family built on nothing but lineage cheapens their own story.

I wish something like this could be the case...however...I just can't imagine a son/daughter would have never been mentioned (in other words an "no, there is another" moment like ROTJ). In TFA it looks like Rey was 5 or 6 when she got sold/dropped off on Jakku. She would remember if her dad was Luke (or Han). Personally, i'm really disappointed in the whole drunkin' parents thing and as stated above, it is really depressing that out of Luke, Han and Leia the only offspring we got was a super Emo disappointment.

That would be the last nail in the coffin. Who cares for emo Kylo's kid??? Such a kid would never continue the Skywalker legacy. The name is Solo either way. Luke's legacy instead is destroyed.

Come on now, we're two episodes in, and a ton of people care about Rey, even with the knowledge that she isn't apparently a Skywalker.

    That's hardly "noone".

ohhh, don't worry, I gave up a long time ago to think my serious impressions what goes wrong in the new SW approach will make any difference. People at LFL are either deaf/blind, have no options or simply think they do the right thing. I am very very sad about this and you can believe me, my heart is bleeding that my once beloved SW that helped me through hard times in life is a sinking ship. :(
