More news on the Damon Lindelof-written Star Wars movie has come into focus from Jeff Sneider, who was the first to report that Lindelof was developing a Star Wars movie.

About 19 minutes into his podcast The Hot Mic, the conversation towards Star Wars and specifically the recent news about Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy being hired to direct the movie scripted by Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson. While Star Wars movies as of late have entered periods of development hell while Lucasfilm paves a cinematic future not solely dependent on the Skywalker Family, Sneider explained that he was confident this film will be the next one in theaters:

When asked about new details in the report, namely that the film was set after The Rise of Skywalker and characters from the sequel trilogy could appear, Sneider said that there aren't any specific names floating around:

On the subject of another Star Wars film that was actually officially announced by Lucasfilm, Sneider explained that the Taika Waititi film is further off than some might expect, but the film from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Damon Lindelof, and Justin Brett-Gibson is moving forward quickly enough that it will likely be the first Star Wars film to hit theaters since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker:

The next two theatrically-released Star Wars films are tentatively scheduled to arrive on December 19, 2025, and December 17, 2027.

Whatever rumored date is announced, it can most definitely be pushed further away... far far away... so I'm not expecting anything concrete till filming begins...

Don't mean to be catty, but this seems like just the latest in a long line of "currently hot and trending" writers/directors being attached to a mystery TBD Star Wars movie, only to be replaced eventually by the next "hotshot".
I hope Lindeloff sticks around, I know he would be an excellent keeper of the flame and would treat the franchise right. I've seen him talk about wanting this way back in the days of 'Lost'

This wasn't confirmed or announced by Lucasfilm. It might be in development, but do you know how many movies are developed never to see light of the day? So, I would take this with the entire salt shaker.

If Lucasfilm wants to make their 2025 date then this sounds about right. Lindelof has been working on this since around March. That gives them through most of next year to get the story right, but that's still a lot of time for things not to work out. Which is why this hasn't been announced. This production time table for The Last Jedi is always useful to get an idea of how long these projects take.
