SPECULATION Dead Pool: Who Lives and Dies in Rogue One?

MY GUESS:

Jyn Erso: She will survive the movie. She is already a fan favourite.

Cassian Andor: He could die, but I don't think so.

Chirrut Imwe: He will die.

Baze Malbus: He will make it out alive.

K2-SO: He will sacrifice his live to save Andor

Bodhi Rook: Dead

Krennic: Killed by Vader

Galen Erso: He will die.

 

Galen is dead before the film starts. When we see him looking up in the rain, it's right after a final confrontation with Krennic.

Jyn dies, she is among the last surviving members. She runs across the beach with the plans, gets to the top of that tower, and sends the transmission right before that TIE fighter rises up to obliterate her. I wouldn't be surprised if the explosion fireball looks just like the Rebellion logo.

Bodhi dies, he makes his final choice on the landing pad before running up the ramp of that huge imperial shuttle that explodes. You can see it on his face that he knows he's charging in to save his teammates with his sacrifice.

Baze probably lives, but would rather have died.

Chirrut does not survive. Probably bites it on that beach while Jyn and Cassian are inside the base in their disguises.

Krennic dies at Vader's hand.

Cassian will likely die, but I'm not certain. I am having trouble believing he gets off that beach.

I think Kaytoo dies as they are sneaking around the base, probably in a distraction while Cassian and Jyn are stealing the plans.

Saw dies in that huge blast on Jedha.

 

I would say that none of them survived, based on what Vader said at the beginning of ANH. But since we have learned the Dark Lord of the Sith can be deceived regarding deaths of certain characters, I'd say some of them would survive. Not 100% sure who of them, I'm partial towards Cassian, Jyn and the droid, but one never knows.

 

Cassian, Jyn & K2SO live,

Everyone else dies.

 

The most likely choice for who survives Rogue One....Disney

 

Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and Bodhi Rook will survive. K2-SO may become damaged, but he can be fixed.

Not sure about Baze Malbus. Galen Erso, Chirrut Imve and Director Krennic, on the other hand, will certainly not survive.

I think his look is of shock that one of his team-mates just bit it, and he is convinced he will meet the same fate. Thus the set-up of a narrow escape and continued future with the Rebel Alliance flying freighters.

 

I agree. I highly doubt they'd have his death in the trailers and his character arc (former Imperial turned good guy) seems too good to waste in some kind of shock value explosion death.

As an aside, I also think that Chirrut will be the only team death in the film. I've talked about this being a Disney film with a sticker book and Lego sets (there's likely to be a Lego game too) in other threads, but it's the truth. I think we might get several supporting character deaths - Saw and Galen seem doomed to me - but I think most of the team will survive. After all, a film that markets itself as being about a rebellion built on hope wouldn't feel very hopeful if it ends with mass death.

 

My guess is that Jyn, K2, Baze and Bodhi survive.

Chirrut we know is a goner, and I think Cassian will die, too. I honestly think this movie is going to focus on the notion of sacrifice for the greater good, and unless Jyn perishes, Cassian is most likely to have the big heroic last-minute death.

 

I think Jyn will survive so they can use her maybe in some other spinoffs set around the OT.

 

No no no, the planet is OBVIOUSLY named Endor later on in commemoration of Cassian's noble sacrifice in Rogue One (kidding)
