Disney Plus To Release New ‘Star Wars’: ‘Rogue One’ Themed The Simpsons Short on May 4

Today, Disney+ announced Maggie Simpson in ‘Rogue Not Quite One, a new short from The Simpsons, will launch May the 4th in celebration of Star Wars Day. In the upcoming short, Homer loses track of Maggie who hops in Grogu’s hovering pram for a hyperspace-hopping adventure across the galaxy. Facing a squadron of Imperial TIE fighters, Maggie brings the battle to Springfield in this epic short celebrating all things Star Wars. Maggie Simpson in Rogue Not Quite One Streaming May 4, 2023 on Disney Plus



Maggie Simpson in ‘Rogue Not Quite One is the latest in a collection of shorts from The Simpsons created exclusively for Disney+. The previously released Star Wars collaboration Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from Its Nap' (Emmy® nominated), is also currently available on Disney Plus.



It may not be the premiere of  a brand new show, but I'm still happy to watch these shorts and tidbits that come our way on May 4, such as last year's behind-the-scenes documentary on The Book of Boba Fett, Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett. Moreover, The Simpons shorts fall squarely into the same lighthearted category as the Lego Star Wars Specials, enjoyed for their goofy humor and interesting nods to canon. Will I be waking up early to watch this release? I certainly won't, but I will enjoy it nonetheless! Who knows what kind of hijinks Maggie and Homer will get up to this year?
