Do you like the first Solo (teaser) trailer?

I have been least excited about this movie of all the new films.

I have to admit it though...this trailer got me pumped. I am officially on board the hype train for this.

I think it was pretty good. Not to mention, I am for sure exited for it's release. Also the actor for Lando looks like he could be pretty good. This could be a very nice spin off film. My only question is what took them so long to get the trailer out. Plus, that was just the teaser.

I really liked it. As someone who was not overly excited for this film, I really enjoyed the trailer. I'm really excited about Donald Glover's portrayal of Lando in particular, as well as Woody Harrelson's character. I'm still not completely sold on Alden as Han, but I really think he'll do a good job overall. This trailer has gotten me really excited for the movie! It looks like it's going to be amazing!

 

I would be more exited about this movie if it wasn't about Han Solo... the trailer is interesting but that is simply not Han Solo.

 

I really liked it. The locations look awesome. New aliens and a bad a$$ new bad guy. Just the hope the trailer is a good indication of what the full movie will be like.

 

Yes, I LOVED both trailers and really looking forward to this movie!!

 

If Glover steals the show, might lead to a spin off film, hey you never know! If it happens it will make up for BDW/ Lando not being a part of the ST.

 

Didn't really feel the hype when I saw it last night.

The more I think about it the more I blame it on the train.

A fist fight on a train. Not original. James Bond does fist fights on trains every other movie. So does Jackie Chan. Spock and Khan did one. Captain America did one. Every cowboy movie ever made has one. The Indiana Jones saga had a couple. If there's a Wikipedia list of all the movies with fist fights on trains I bet it would take 45 minutes just to print it out.

Can't Hollywood let a train get from Point A to Point B without someone getting knocked off it?

It's just too cliche for the Galaxy far, far away. I want Star Wars to break new ground.

The train fight felt so overused, so tired and expected, so formulamatic and predictable.

 

The way I view Alden as Han Solo is very similar to the way I view Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, a different person playing an iconic character who doesn't exactly sound (or in Alden's case: look) like the saga version of the character. I know this example is quite a bit of a stretch considering that this is live-action, but my point is that Alden looks and talks like Han Solo, even though he doesn't necessarily look or sound like Harrison Ford. That probably made zero sense, but oh well!

These two trailers look dope as heck. Visually, it looks quite good, and the outfit and vehicle designs look really cool and feel pretty fresh. I really like the music playing with both teasers, I wouldn't mind if the actually movie score sounded somewhat like that. I love the ending of that last teaser with the crew aboard the Millenium Falcon with Han doing that sick move with the TIE Fighter and referencing his intercom scene from A New Hope. "We're all fine."

I've gotten really excited for the movie over the course of the last two or three months and these teasers did not disappoint. Well, they didn't disappoint me anyway!

 

I agree, Light Side. He isn't Harrison Ford, but I can buy his being Han Solo, surprisingly. His delivery of the lines and the smirk he makes get Han's mannerisms down better than I expected.

 

When it comes down to it, it's always been about the ships for me. Characters come and go, but the Millennium Falcon has a life of its own. And it seems, in the teaser, that we'll be seeing her in mint condition. A brand new, baby YT-1300. I am excited for this.

 

That's how I feel too. I liked everything about it except Han himself. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic that Ron Howard salvaged what I feel was going to be a disaster. Plus it's nice to get some official images because I think it is pathetic that every article about his movie shows that one main image we've all seen 1,000 times with the 2 directors no longer attached to the project.

 

Worth remembering this. If the film ends up even being just passably good, it could be that it would have been horrible, pre-Howard.

 

The trailer was decent.. Film looks decent with the exception of Alden as Han.. Still way to early to tell though..

 

It didn't take long for LFL to blow SW up. Two bombs in a row now. But the zealots will ride the bombs.

 

You are literally reviewing an edited 90 second tv commercial. Not a 2 hour film.

 

I might be the only guy who doesn't care who plays Han Solo, as long as the story is good.

I love Harrison Ford, I really do, but to me Harrison Ford wasn't Han Solo as much as the guys who wrote the part. Feel free to slay me over that, but it is what it is.

I think Alden....Aiden?...Arnold?....Armondo?....whatever..... Looked okay. I may have picked a different, more "Han" looking dude, but I'm not the 'dude in the room' when that decision is made.

It looks fun. It looks exotic. The bad guy looks menacing. I'm all in for now. (But the pacing was off)

 

you most definitely are not the only one who thinks that.

I remember going to see JJ's first star trek movie with Chris Pine as Kirk, and i was adamant that he wouldn't be a good Kirk and that i wouldn't like the film. i forgot all about that rubbish after a few minutes coz i was enjoying the movie.

Only Harrison Ford can play Han like Harrison Ford. ppl need to stop worrying about that side of things and give the kid a chance.. give the movie a chance.
