This may be chalked up to some filming inconsistencies, but if you compare the two Poe cockpit shots from the Teasers, they don't match up in a few ways.

In the first Teaser - Poe has some bruises on his face and has a very intense stare as if he is about to blow something up - the trench run gaze. This could be an attack on the Snow planet?

In the second Teaser - Poe has a yee-haw attitude and appears to be missing the bruises on his face. The sky is also clearer/brighter. Cockpit right shoulder looks different. Is this him coming to save the day in the black x-wing? Is this him cocky saving the day?

Where do the bruises come from? Which battle takes place first? Are these the same battle?

Something in these pictures doesn't add up to it being the same battle unless it is a really long battle and he gets bruises during the fight?

Maybe his scars must not appear until after the first mission.

Yes, I am pretty sure Poe is flying 2 X-Wings. First the regular one we've seen in the Force for Change video and then the Black X-Wing. At least that's what a source told me (the same one who first said that BB-8 is with Poe in the beginning of the movie).

Would make sense based on photos above....but still wondering how BB-8 fits into an x-wing....and why the other x-wings have R5 units: [IMG]

Still thinking BB-8 is Rey's, but who knows?

** Edit: on second thought, looks like he's flying the same X-wing---just a different angle and lighting. At least they're VERY similar.

I believe there is a picture of a model that was shown at Celebration which showed BB-8 in an X-Wing. @Viral Hide and MSW sources have BB-8 initially with Poe.

I still think he is flying a light grey X-Wing in both of these pics. Some of the differences over his right shoulder (our left) could be just a different angle from the camera. That bar sticking out just over that shoulder in the second pic though leads me to believe it is at a minimum from a different mission if not a different X-Wing. I guess there could be an explanation or even just filming inconsistencies. It stands to reason that if he does in fact crash his X-Wing on Jakku or another location, that he would get another ship at some point. Was he rumored to be in Abu Dabi at all? I guess he could have filmed Jakku scenes solely from Pinewood.

I wouldn't rule out him flying the black x-wing at some point either.

Personally, I think it plays out like this:

    - Poe is on Jakku in a grey/blue X-Wing, which possibly gets torched (according to MSW).
    - After Finn leaves (abandons?) him at the TIE crash site, Poe eventually returns to the Resistance base in a black X-Wing.
    - He then leads the fleet in another grey/blue X-Wing - the same mission seen in both trailers. I think the shot in teaser two comes before the shot in the first teaser, though, perhaps why he looks roughed up in the first teaser.

I have a sneaky feeling the "saving the say in the black X-Wing" might have been a misunderstanding based on the presumption that the black X-Wing is in some way "special". For me, it's just a black X-Wing, and there may be an amusing story attached to how he came to acquire it... but it's just a hunch, I'm sure I'll be proved wrong.

decent bro, I also agree that the potential torturing scene may explain any potential beat-up on Poe. Can't wait for that x-wing vibe in TFA!

Vanity Fair pic says "Poe and his x-wing". And it isn't black. But I may have changed my mind about kylo being a double agent and flying the black xwing. There seems to be plenty going on in those pics, and I'm not sure that is part of it.

IT ALL LOOKS VERY COOL THOUGH!!!

Maybe he is a double agent because the photos of him in the Rebel Pilot suit but I'm not a fan of the idea, if it happens I hope Driver's acting skills fulfill the tone and the twisted side of his character

oh and from the interior of the two possible X-wings for me there are no major difference between them so for me is the same. I think BB8 belongs to Poe at the beginning. I think Poe flights two different X-wings but from the inside of the cockpit, I can't judge.

Keep in mind also that in different Navy/Air Force squadrons the fighter paint schemes change....that might be something.

Here's some of the differences that make me believe these might be different days/shots (if not completely different cockpits)

Light Blue: The wire connecting the box is in different locations (and not just a different camera angle)
Red: The hose is in a completely different location. On top, it is in front of the box/pipe; on bottom it is tucked under it.
Orange: There are some bruises/blood marks in the bottom show but not the top. (even clearer when you see it in video)
Purple: The lighting and background appear to be different and possibly even different time of day. Shadows are strong on top, dulled on bottom. Light position moved.

Based on these shots, specultion would be that the top shot would be Poe coming to the rescue at Maz's castle and the bottom shot would be him assaulting the First Order base on the Snow Planet (Ryoome?)

But again - these could just be filming inconsistencies, but they look too different to be the same "scene" to me.

The two helmets look a little different to me. The red Wedge thing, one looks more curved as one looks more of a 45degree angle. And the visors are different sizes. Unless I am seeing things...

On the curved surface of the helmet, the same line with the helmet turned at a different angle would look curved instead of straight. I think the difference in the visor is an illusion caused by shadow in the bottom picture on his face that is not there in the top. The camera also appears to be a little closer to him in the top picture.

The decals are much more worn off but that could be explained within the movie.

Personally, I think Poe just gets roughed up in the cockpit during the battle, the same way Zev did on Hoth.
Because, despite the visible differences, the fact remains the X-Wing is still clearly flying low over a lake in both shots.

I mean, at the end of the day, you have to remember the practicality is that the actors are getting in and out of these cockpits between takes. For example, the cables to the right of shot in Luke's cockpit change position during the attack on the Death Star, the lighting is notably different from shot to shot, his collar is opened in one shot and closed in another and his chin guard is slightly wonky while it is straight in other shots.
