I think is all about the the light what makes does difference between the two different photos and that's the reason of inconsistencies. When there is a mayor expose that makes things looks closer to you or that they are in a different position, indeed. So I think is more a Direction of Photography playing with us more than a different helmet or a different x wing. Also the camera is positioned in two different positions for the two different shots of Poe, the first one is more close to him, the second one is more open, you can see a kind of joystick/x wing controllers in front of Poe.

It does almost appear to be that way. Could be because one camera shot is zoomed in more, so the perspective changes, or (like you said) the S-foils are in attack position.

I think the Black one is first. I think there is 3 factions. I think there is the New Republic and the 1st Order and the Resistence. I think the Resistence is a separate entity from the Republic. It might be supported by or sypathetic with the Republic but I think that either both the Republic and the 1st Order is building super weapons and the Resistance is breaking off from the Republic because they don't want to be apart of a kinder gentler war machine or the Resistance is a behind enemy lines operation thus "peace" can exist between the Republic and 1st Order but there are still flash points.

Poe will start in a Galactic Republic X-Wing get shot down over Jakku. Rey's pig creature will salvage it with her per the concept art. Later when the resistance needs a pilot Poe will volunteer and get a Resistance blue fighter. Till Han tosses him the keys to the Falcon.

He lands his X-wing on Jakku...he is Blue Leader and flying the white version...he is captured and his ride is torched by flame troopers....the battle of Jakku left many relics from the war and he flies an Old version back to base...He is issued another and it is black...his new helmet is the same as his old one except it is now black but all markings are the same...

    Peace.

No, I don't have call sheets. I still have some art that still hasn't leaked, and @Darkstar is legit. ;)

Hmm thanks but what are you saying exactly? That you trust his info? How can you be sure that info is reliable if you don't have it too?

But that still doesn't quite stack up for me. Think about it...

    1) We know Poe's grey/blue X-Wing that he begins the movie with was built as a practical set on Pinewood's North Lot near to the rest of the Jakku village set, just outside the studio's 007 Stage. Evidence - the Vanity Fair shoot and the Force for Change video:
    Star-Wars-2-Poe-1024x695.jpg X-WingFFC.jpg
    2) We know that Poe at some point pilots a grey/blue X-Wing wearing his black helmet, so it is clearly not necessarily tied to the fighter with the matching colour scheme. Evidence - this photo seen at Celebration:
    10996049_809337332491592_4426834068298471942_n.jpg
    3) We know the black X-Wing was also built as a practical set at Greenham Common. Also, purely speculation on my part, but the shot of Poe striding away from the fighter with its cockpit open suggests to me he has just arrived at the base. Evidence - these photos taken by fans and the one seen at Celebration:
    ftQvMTm.jpg 11159991_809337255824933_7476072776733575451_n.jpg
    4) As seen in both trailers, Poe is seen flying low over a water environment. For those who think the cockpit shots may not necessarily match the shots showing a group of X-Wings descending on the lake/sea/whatever that they are juxtaposed with - well, perhaps that is the case. But in teaser one Poe's X-Wing clearly has spray lapping up at the canopy consistent with the exterior shot of the X-Wing squadron, and in teaser two, you can see the matching lake and greenery behind Poe clearly through the rear window. For the sake of argument, it doesn't really matter where this is and what is happening - are there two separate missions which require flying low over water in this movie? Unlikely, if you ask me - the point is, despite the endless debates, Poe's X-Wing has blue engine trims consistent with the grey model, not red trims like the black one. I seriously doubt we have seen him actually in the cockpit of a black X-Wing in any of the material we have seen so far:

    X-Wing-trim-comparison.png

So like I said, it doesn't matter what may or may not be going on in this scene featuring Poe and a group of X-Wings flying low over some water. It comes down to a simple process of elimination. If he doesn't get his black helmet until after he returns to the Resistance base, then this must be after his return. It can't actually be his return unless he picked up a bunch of other Resistance pilots along the way. Also, the S-Foils are open, which suggests an attack of some kind to me.
I don't see when this scene where Poe leads a squadron of grey/blue X-Wings, while piloting a grey/blue X-Wing fits in with the movie it is not the final assault on the First Order base...

I don't doubt the info you have - and thanks for sharing, BTW - I just still don't see any evidence for the black X-Wing being the one Poe pilots at the climax of the movie. To me, the evidence seems to be stacked in favour of the black model being the "relic" he flies back from Jakku in...
