I don’t recall Obiwan saying that. But it was in ROTJ, twice I think.
Luke: I will not fight you, father.
Darth Vader: You are unwise to lower your defenses!

Luke: I will not fight you.
Vader: Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends.

I'd probably be confused, but at the same time, I like it when Star Wars gets weird.

Cool. I didn’t realize you were a financial analyst for Disney!

How do you know what they invested in the show and viewership and growth in subscribers they expected this series to drive?

Maybe it’s exceeding their expectations and they really are happy with it. I have no clue. I was just pointing out how Disney COULD view it as a problem even if it has higher than average viewership.

You’re statement is oddly self assured for someone who has no idea what the company’s goals are for the show.

It's just common sense. I can assure you that the goal for these projects isn't "cultural phenomenon or bust."

I think it's not so important what is the name. Casual Audience understand Ahsoka's fall, perhaps death, and what is the role of this place. It was the same in Harry Potter when Harry enters the white world and meets Dumbledore : we don't know of there os a name for this place, and actually, it doesn't matter.

Casual fans -- or indeed, most well-informed nerds -- still do not really know what the Dark Side cave on Dagobah was, 40-odd years later.

Understanding the minute mechanics of the WBW is not necessary to enjoy the show, or understand Ahsoka has some sort of self-realization, growth, and score-settling type experience that will inform her character in the future.

Right. The WBW, if that's what it was, is an excuse to make things happen. Its material location, origin, mechanics and underlying "physics" are irrelevant. Like a time machine. It doesn't have to work according to a set of established rules. It just has to work.

But it's not a time machine, it's just a place that exists.

I agree it's not a time machine. But it's similar in the sense that it is an excuse to make things happen. It exists when and where it needs to for the story, or for the character. (Including purely within he character's subconscious because they already know what the potential of the WBW is and depicting their internal struggle within that context has a sort of legitimacy to it. Rather than just abstract thought.) Like time machines do and don't exist/work if the story needs them to.

Think of it as the Dorchester Hotel suite at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's not the actual Dorchester Hotel, or maybe it is. It's irrelevant. And at no point does the movie explain that it's a suite at the Dorchester Hotel or what the Dorchester Hotel is doing there. It's just a nominal, and liminal, space for Bowman to observe his evolution/devolution into his next plane of existence.

It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol are more or less time travel stories that doesn't use time travel. And the true nature of angels and spirits are not essential to their respective stories. Ahsoka's "WBW" experience in E5 is along the same lines as those story devices.

If it really was the WBW, then why isn't it being used to find Ezra and Sabine? Why the purgills instead? The WBW represents a way of Ahoska getting what she wants. But it's also the last connection between her and what's holding her back or what she fears is holding her back. So it functions in this episode as a nexus of who Ahsoka needs to be. Rather than a nexus of where she needs to physically go. Which is what the WBW actually is, materially.

    ^^ This ^^

It's the same with force abilities.
When confronted to firing stormtroopers, it's irrelevant that a Jedi keeps stopping the blasts with the saber.
A simple force push, and the first rank of ST is projected on the second rank, the second on the third, and so on until the last stormtrooper still alive falls.
More simple : a simple force grab and all the weapons leave the hands of the stormtroopers (the same way Vader on Bespin disarms Han).
Even more simple : a simple force lift and any vessel can be drop on a entire batalion and crush absolutely everyone.

    This is just an example.
Speaking of the WBW as a simple "time machine", it's even more simple : Vader enters the WBW and saves Padme. Period. Even more : Vader enters the WBW and kills baby Sheev as he is just born.... Final period. :D

So what @Martoto states is the best explanation and can be extended to every aspect of the plot/story/situations : everything exists (or do not exist) when and where it needs to for the story or the plot.
    No less. No more.

"An old friend has learned the path to immortality. One who has returned from the Netherworld of the Force." - the best a casual fan can get.

Also: the Netherworld is where Elan Sleazebaggano & friends end up visiting nightly.
That way, Deathsticks = tripping balls for reals. Talkin to dead people. Seeing EVERYTHING.

    EDIT:

If only Kenobi had toked one - he would have found Qui Gon MUCH faster.
