Episode IX Title Speculation

There's only one title that I can see working without knowing the plot of the film itself.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Skywalker Legacy.

Lucasfilm are selling the movie as "the last chapter in the Skywalker Family Saga" for a reason. They'll make Episode X eventually, but there's a lot of advantages to them - both creatively and financially - to sell this movie as "The Last One", even though we know that they'll be doing spin-offs and other Star Wars film series for quite some time before E10 is even a thing. From a creative standpoint, it means that future movies won't have to explicitly be related to the exploits of the original characters, even if they their past actions will have repercussions on the state of the GFFA. From a financial standpoint, it's been established that selling a movie as "the end" is something that can drive up audience interest and be really good for your box office total (see: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two and Avengers: Infinity War, even though the latter is really just the penultimate episode before the finale).

Both Luke and Leia will have become one with the Force before the end of the film. Leia's role will have to be smaller than it was originally planned to be by design, although thankfully we'll be seeing her in the film after all. And while TFA and TLJ might have shown that they had shortcomings as heroic figures after the events of the OT, this is the real opportunity to show how many lives they were able to touch, how many people they were able to inspire as we zoom out from focusing on the remnants of a ragtag Resistance to seeing the Republic's survivors join forces with them and take the battle to destroy the First Order once and for all.

Knowing that Lando is in this in and of itself should tell us that we'll be getting a look at parts of the GFFA that have only been alluded to in the Sequel Trilogy so far, and while we're bound to hear Leia give some kind of a badass speech and see Luke do some badass Force Ghost stuff before the credits roll, what the movie should do is to show just how much these characters (and Han, God rest his soul) were able to change on a smaller level in spite of the fact that the government that they spent decades trying to build up collapsed, along with the order that was meant to protect it... And give hope that even better things will take their place. Even small stuff can add up to something great when it's present in a large enough quantity, and I suspect that even as bad as things are for our heroes, the point of this trilogy was to show that their efforts weren't in vain.

 

Yep. We've heard it dozens of times in different places but it works so well for the end of the saga. Especially with the evolution of the force user in ep. eight. "The light, the dark. A balance".
