I hope that is not the case, Inquisitor is appearantly formidable as hell, to be stunned cheaply like in Mortal Kombat game.
My theory on the stunning is that Disney can't have the main character running around killing annons in white armor with gun,
they saw fan's cries over that bloody slingshot and thought: ''They are probably outraged by the dumb design of it, let's incorporate it into lightsaber, it will be helluva more cool!''.

I hope it will be the stun ala ''set for stun'' in ANH.

Agreed @Dynamixx88. I think the stun feature on the lightsaber removes the slingshot however. Instead of little energy balls, now Ezra can shoot blue rings that can actually stop enemies, not just make them flinch and continue moving (if they have armor or defense)

essentially, the stun blaster is a Disney PC move, as they probably thought it would be non-PC to give a kid an actual gun (but somehow a lightsaber is ok?). I am sure this is why he has used that stupid slingshot up until now.

Perhaps, but also, why would a 15 year old kid, stuck on a single planet, want a gun? He just stole fruit and some crates, and he never openly tried to defy the Empire till e joined the crew of the Ghost, and as a training Jedi, he also knows its not the way to just shoot and harm others out of revenge - atleast up to today's episode.

Does anyone else think that the saber blades are just too thin and weird looking after watching the beautiful blades in TCW? I do like them, I just can't help but think they look odd. Yes, I know Dave Filoni said that the sabers were deliberately made that way so as to look more like the OT ones, but they still don't look right to me....

After Ezra ignited his saber I noticed that for the first time. I went back in the episode to make sure Kanan's was similar. It really sticks out when it's a wide shot and you aren't distract by dueling. It is kinda weird.

I'm not particularly a fan of the new saber... though I am a fan of the uniqueness of it, having been designed by Ezra himself to serve a purpose he wanted. At least it has an added function thought out by him, rather than just being designed in a very basic manner and built using handed out materials like was the norm in the PT.

I am curious to see it in action, both parts.

your absolutly right. its his light saber to do with what he pleases. and if you were a 15 year old kid then you might design something completely off the wall, but you love it anyways. as he gets older im sure he will improve on this design. maybe he never truly becomes a proficient swordsman.

I remember reading here on this forum a few speculations about who Ezra's father could be. Rex was a stand out in those discussions. Rex Being a Clone of Jango and of course Boba Being a direct clone of Jango makes me wonder, if based on the Boba Fett Armour looking colors of Ezra's lightsaber, if in fact Rex or maybe even Boba Fett could be Ezra's father.

They showed what Ezra's parents looked like in the show. They just look like two normal people and the father doesnt look anything like a Jango clone. The mystery is not who his parents were. The mystery is what the Empire did to them or why they were taken.

What's weird is, and I might be remembering it incorrectly, but didn't they show a "picture" that was actually a drawing? Seemed strange. Plus they look like Romans or Greeks or something.

Remember though, in Star Wars we've already seen children of prominent anti-Imperials who were actually found to have been adopted by their parents. But that does seem unlikely here... though some people have mentioned his apparent obsession with helmets/masks and tech gizmos.

Yes. Every time they show a picture in Rebels it looks like a drawing. For... some reason. I assume so they don't look even more like dead-eyed dolls as a 3d model that doesnt move would look :)

Speaking of Ezra's parents.... why the hell has not Hera told Ezra what that Rodian guy said to her?

Maybe because he told her that Ezra is adopted, and that he really is Boba Fett's son.

    Kidding. :p

I think the new lightsaber designs for Rebals and The Force Awakens are great \m/ the possibilities are endless now. I believe we will see many more cool and fun designs come out over the next 5 years.

I don't think Boba Fett is old enough to be Ezra's father. He didn't have the accelerated aging like the other clones and was still a kid during the clone wars, probably around 9 at the start.

I think that's becuase the OT blades do (IMHO) look a little thicker than some of the concept art depictions.

    Here's the blades from Rebels:

Here's McQuarie's concept for a certain famous lightsaber duel:

And in production it wound up looking like this:

It's ever so slight but there is a difference IMHO.

I like Ezra's Lightsaber, It is much better than the Infamous Slingshot. Here is Ezra using it in Rebel Resolve:
