Just some thoughts on why the Falcon could be on Crait. We know it must be in the close to final act of the movie, so the Falcon has either left Luke/Rey on Ahch-to or has taken one or both of them to Crait. When you see the Falcon it seems as though it is being chased, fleeing, rather than joining the fight, so I think they must be evacuating Leia and company from the planet.

There is likely somebody co-piloting with Chewie because he is in his usual chair rather than Solo's traditional pilot chair, and also likely somebody firing the turret during the escape (hoping for Luke being cocky).

I've heard rumors of scenes throughout the speculation news that both Poe and Finn have scenes on Ahch-to, so maybe the Falcon is picking up Finn Poe and Leia to take to Crait where Luke and Rey have been left behind and are ambushed by Kylo and company?

    The porg is co-piloting!!

You do raise quite an interesting point. It never occurred to me that Chewie isn't actually sitting in the pilot's chair, but I'm pretty sure we see enough of the shot to know there isn't anyone next to him other than the porg.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it's just Chewie and the porg in the Falcon during that specific scene. However that does leave the question...
How does Rey get to Crait because WE KNOW she gets there.
I guess it's always possible that it could drop someone/some people off on Crait and then take off again with just Chewie.

Anyone of those scenarios could be possible but though it seems like it is fleeing it is fighting back.

I have a hard time believing Chewie is all by himself besides the Porg because at :32 seconds in the last TV spot(the one with Luke on the Falcon) you can see while on Crait someone is manning the gunner and firing at Tie Fighters. So unless Chewie has it on AutoPilot, or the Porg is flying it while Chewie is shooting then he can't be alone. I think they just don't wanna show who is piloting for it to be a surprise.

I agree and my bet is Luke either piloting (not such a bad pilot himself) or in the gunner seat. I absolutely think the shot with Chewie and the Porg is cropped and zoomed so we don't see who is piloting to keep viewers guessing.

As for the Porg, I think maybe this little bugger is 'intune' with the force and maybe helping Chewie (or Rey or Luke for that matter) pilot the ship, somehow alerting them to what the tie fighters are going to do. That little yelp he makes sounds like Alert! Alert!

My feeling is this: Rey convinces Luke to go to Crait just like Luke convinced Yoda to let him leave dagobah for bespin, except luke goes with her. While Rey is fending off the attack with poe and finn, she gets captured by Ben and sent to Snoke while Luke is busy helping his sister, Leia. He is too late when Rey is taken because he knew against his will that he shouldnt have let rey leave his island, so the falcon is the reason that took them all there but Luke gets on the falcon again but is forced to take it alone to go to Snoke.

That's a good theory. I can definitely see it going like that.

My theory isn't nearly as well thought out as yours, it's basically just what my gut is telling me based off what we've seen in trailers. Rey takes the Falcon to Crait with Chewie and drops herself off. But obviously you can't just leave the Falcon landed in the middle of a big battlefield so Chewie takes off with it and then... I don't know, maybe that chase we see in the trailer chase ensues. Again, I'm just spitballing from my gut but I really think that during the shots we've seen in the trailer, Chewie and the porg are the only ones aboard the Falcon. Maybe they take it back to Ach-To... who knows.

Here are my 3 possible scenarios:
    1. Rey, Chewie and the Porg leave Ahch-To and head for Crait in the Falcon. Luke stays behind. (falcon)(chewbacca)
    2. Luke and R2 take the resurrected X-Wing out of the water and follows Rey and Chewy to Crait. (x-wing)(luke)(r2-d2 2)
    3. Kylo Ren takes Rey to Snoke's Star Destroyer and Luke and Chewy take the Falcon to rescue her. (kylo ren)(star destroyer)(luke)(chewbacca)(falcon)
The pessimist in me says that Luke is left behind at Ahch-To and Rey and Chewy takes the Falcon. Rey returns to Ahch-To in Episode IX to complete her training and Luke passes away into the Force. I refuse to believe that Rian Johnson would kill Luke in The Last Jedi, especially since we didn't get him until the last 30 seconds of TFA.

I like the idea of Luke using his old Xwing, forgot about it under the water, but how could it possibly work after being submerged for who knows how long. Not like he can just take it to the shop and get the rust out, but maybe R2 could help repair it?

Something goes down on Ahch-to, I can't see Rey running on the beach with the lightsaber ignited just out for a midnight jog. I think everyone is going to leave that island and we will never see it again unless Luke goes back to chill again or restart his Jedi academy there after seeing the light again at the end of IX. I'm certain Luke survives this film, after being robbed of a Luke/Leia/Han reunion by JJ, Rian would be the most hated man in nerd land, especially with Carrie gone now.

As for that Porg, still think it must be helping with the force in some way or another, or else why would they take it from Ahch-to? It's not like Chewie needs a pet, he is the pet. Could be the true chosen one, or Yoda controlling it through the force, or even a Dark Porg of the Sith. A peace offering to Kylo?

Definitely plausible. I think Kylo and company attack Luke/Rey on Ahch-to mid-film, perhaps after they attack the resistance, we know they get beat up pretty bad fleeing the First Order near the beginning. So the movie goes like this...

Rey and Luke spar at first with her wanting to train him, he reluctantly agrees after seeing her power knowing that he can't let a second powerful force user turn dark like Kylo, and he begins to believe he can correct his past mistakes with Kylo, giving him hope again and restoring his confidence. The First order attack Leia's ship, and discover the map to Luke in BB8 or their ships computers, but Leia herself and Poe escape and flee to Crait, while she sends Finn/Rose on their casino adventure to try and infiltrate the First Order. The First Order then pursue Leia to Crait, while Kylo and his crew are sent to Ahch-to and are successful in capturing Rey but not Luke. Kylo takes Rey to Snoke, and Luke then goes with Chewie in the Falcon in pursuit of Rey due to feeling even more guilty as Kylo has yet again screwed him over and he finally realizes that he has to correct his failings. Everything climaxes with Crait at the end. Luke can't rescue Rey, but hooks up with Leia and her new pals Finn and Poe, and they flee in the Falcon to formulate a rescue plan leading into the next film much the way ESB ended, setting up the final chapter.

Chewbacca could be piloting the Falcon by himself on Crait with someone/s manning the guns. He does it in ANH when Han and Luke are on the guns. I think it would be cool if it was Rey and Luke on the guns with Chewbacca piloting.
