    How would you feel about Episode 8 starting like this? Daisy seemed to indicate that Episode 8 starts out where Episode 7 ends, which is something that hasn't been done before. So you have the Lucasfilm splash, and then the movie immediately starts with Rey holding the lightsaber (the reshot footage that we have already seen a clip of). They banter back and forth for a few minutes, perhaps even solving a mystery right out of the gate. Then boom screen goes black and we get the crawl, and the story flashes forward a few months or a few years, whatever the crawl indicates.

    Honestly, i'd be good with it...even if it jumped forward a year, but I want to see them exchange words at their first meeting. So yes (based on your description) I'd be just fine with it. :)

    They won't do that I guarantee it. Mark my words: VIII will take place directly after TFA, the opening crawl will be at the beginning like always, and there will be no time jump throughout the film whatsoever.

    ...and the opening crawl will rehash what happened at the end of TFA that we didn't see with our own eyes.

    It will do some of that, yes. But it will also introduce events going on in the galaxy at the time that we didn't know about at the end of TFA so as to lay the foundation for the next chapter in the story.

    No just do a regular start. Then show us Luke and Rey meeeting. Then give us some Poe and FInn, maybe Kylo Ren. Then when they go back to Luke and Rey they can change the scenery or thier outfits to show time has passed. Also I dont think that much time will have passed even between their meeting, and the rest of the movie.

    I think a better way would be to show something else besides Rey and Luke Skywalker as the opening scene and just have their opening scene pick up in real time .

    I don't believe this will happen. I believe open crawl as normal, some action, set the tone and 4/5 chapters in cut to Ray, on ach-too (spelling?)
