I kinda liked this character, tough as I first read an article, before seeing some pictures and the movie itself and found the character weird: ''.....a droid general, who coughs.'' Well, at that time, I was going to high school and my Star Wars fandom went little down. As I saw Episode III, I wondered how big the gap was between II-III and wondered, what the hell Grievous was, as I wasn't that much on background info.

I am little down on the matter, that we didn't got his origin story in 2003 nor 2008 Clone Wars series.
Only something I read on wookiepedia, about him being general, who got bomb planted in his shuttle by Sidious, survived in hideous near death state and was remodeled simmilar to Darth Vader, testing the technology (did Sidious foreseen this?). Don't know if this is even canon nowadays.

How Grievous came to be and what is your opinion on this character and his inclusion into the Saga?

Hm, like you I was sort of intrigued by the character, and only got his backstory off Wookieepedia.

Perhaps a novel or a new comic will come out to relate his backstory (to replace that which already did under Dark Horse Comics), but I doubt a movie or anything will touch on it. Maybe if they do a spin-off set in the prequel era, perhaps with that rumored Obi-Wan spinoff or so, they might touch on it. But I don't foresee anything devoted to it.

The three villains that were not the Emperor in the PT were all aspects of who Anakin would be come:
Maul- the weapon of the Sith, cloaked in dread and brutal.
Dooku- strategist, stately, commanding, cunning and murderer of many Jedi.

Grievous was "more machine than man." Almost all machine. Emotionless. Note that Obi-Wan broke his heart. Anakin screamed how he was betrayed by the Jedi. The power that Sidious gained "you killed her" that loss, and anger. It is telling that when Vader was most angry he was the most pliable by the emperor.

I believe he had a backstory, part of the EU, where he as a great Kaleesh warrior and warmaker, and that he fought a species off planet, but pushed back again by the jedi, even though wished to become a Jedi, as he respected them. Then Dooku and the IGBC stuff went down, he gets nearly killed on purpose by the Sith, is reconstructed, aided with Sif-Dyas Blood, and then ya have the rest. All EU, interesting stuff though.

I don't think we will see a droid like villain of him ever in the future of this franchise.

Droids seem to have become fully subjugated by the OT, and the ST seems to be the same way, might have even more force power mysticism than the OT did. Grievous still needs his own novel or mini series to explain why he became a cyborg. By canon, he chose to, but the EU had a decent warrior-god story.

Well we know how he became a cyborg, a enemy of the republic Utapau became his final resting place thanks to Kenobi

Actually, we don't, which is my point. With Star Wars EU not canon, the only facts we have about his cyborg body was that he was an alien before, and that he chose to become a cyborg, according to Dave Filoni.

Actually Count Dooku placed a bomb on his shuttle critically wounding him, Inter-Galactic Bank Chairman San Hill created the armour Grievous's body would be placed in he was a great droid warrior.

Dude, that's EU, or Extended Universe. Disney has stated the story is not canon, along with almost everything else. So in other words, none of that happened at all.

Well I cannot see how someone would be willing to be reconstructed as a tincan for revenge purposes.

True. That's why we need some legit backstory for both Greivous and Dooku, even after The Clone Wars, we lack great amounts of detail on their pasts.

You mean like a re-hash of the EU stories? I agree, it would make sense, but some parts would definitely need to be changed.

A bit more of turning a noble warrior into a tool, all unbeknownst to him. As for Dooku, I want to see how he, as an older and wiser man, in manipulated by Sidious.

He was an awesome leader and a great military commander of his world who nearly drove the Huk to extinction yet he became just a normal flunky after he was made a droid.

I fell in love with him from the first moment I saw him and I really love EU Grievous but the ROTS and CW Grievous really turned him into a loser and that was really messed up. The great Jedi killing general only killed a measley padawan in 5 seasons of CW yet a dude like Savage Opress killed a Jedi master and his aprentice in his very first episode. :(
