Is there any chance of a second teaser trailer before the end of the year? Or are we looking at April / May before we get another trailer?

Maybe another teaser before 2014´s gone, and a longer trailer in April or May? I hope we'll at least see something before spring!

If another trailer is going to come out before 2014, it will release on or around Christmas - either with The Hobbit or Into The Woods. But nothing is certain at this point.

I'm just trying to glean, based on all the evidence, which is pretty back and forth on the subject, if Ridley (Kira) is indeed Han and Leia's daughter. I feel like it is pretty important for justifying this being a story in the same line as the other episodes, that we have a lead protagonist that is of the Skywalker bloodline.

I'm not convinced that there will be another teaser so soon after this one. They know we'll dissect this one for as long as there isn't a new one out yet. I think they can get away with leaving a second teaser to until about the superbowl, just in an effort to get us to stew in our own juices.

But I don't think they'll reveal the "Big 3" until the full length trailer. Source? Pure, unadulterated speculation. The idea just sounds right to me.

If it isn't Tatooine, we can throw out the "press kit"

What I thought was... there was a rumor of Boyega telling Han "that's when I met you, I wasn't trying to kill you" or some such... and I wondered if the Falcon shot Boyega down

Ok, I got as far as it calling Christie "inquisitor" and Ridley "Kira" before I discarded the rest... #theForceHitsSnooze

Read through it. Not buying it.
I really hope MVS isn't Boba. There's no way he could have escaped the Sarlacc with a broken jetpack. I know SW is 'a family affair' but bringing back old characters in 'shocking' ways feels cheap. You can't pull a 'I'm your father' moment in every film...

I also hope Luke hasn't been training too many new jedi and that the force regains its sense of mystery. The jedi of the PT were too powerful IMO. If this Spoilerman is to be believed way too many of the new characters are either force sensitive or actual pupils of Skywalker.

I'm really curious as to how they will go about explaining the fact that the Empire is still around after the Emperor and Vaders demise. Has the war been raging on for thirty years? Or are we in a 'cold war' scenario?

Afraid Lucas said he made it out... but fortunately we do seem to be in a cold war...

    On a side note...

Agree. Boba should be a mysterious character anyway, one of the main reasons he got so popular. I don't hate the prequels, but I didn't like that they explored Boba Fett's background in it! Of course, surviving the Sarlac Pitt makes you mysterious and rather awesome, but I think Boba'll loose some of his mystery if he's used to much IMO.

The Empire lost their leader, and one of their most frightening symbols, but I suppose the Empire were pretty big and had a lot of other potential leaders, so I think they still may be arround at the time TFA takes place. But more likely like an empire without the sith legacy.

If the aim of TFA is to recreate the territory of the OT, and profit-motive will be a big motivator, there will be all the classic tropes and icons of the Empire, Rebellion, same character dynamics and same spacecraft but with some sprucing up as pleases the producers and director, and a 'fresh coat of paint' applied to the characters. The narrative infrastructure will be very similar. Vader will be back in some form and there will be characters resembling the Emperor, but with different names. I'm not a proponent of any of that, but business is business especially when so much money has been spent buying the SW brand and extensive use needs to be made of its biggest money-earning aspects.

Has Mr. Plinkett's thoughts on the teaser trailer been linked here yet?
    (Sorry if it already has)

I fear there may be a lot of truth in that post. Hopefully their main motivator is to tell a great story and not just to cash in.
Bringing Vader back will sell a lot of toys and videogames but I just don't see how it could 'work' in their scenario. Maybe a new sith finding and wearing the armour and helmet may be 'believable' but bringing back Anakin would be stupid.

Unfortunately yes, but if it's going to become a reality then so be it, and there will be pleasures to be had from other aspects of the new films and cartoons. When viewed in that larger context, and that SW is once more a living entity in the cinematic sense, it might not seem so problematic in the long run.

Sounds like the Dark Side villains in TFA are fans of the Sith legacy and they'll be assuming various personas to suit their agendas, of which Vader might be one - a 'brand name' of fear. TFA and the other sequels may be a Vader retrospect but not literally bringing Anakin back from the dead.

I really don't like the idea of characters taking on personas/masks like that. It feels so...wrong.

Agreed. It would show a lack of creativity as well. I have no doubt they will come up with new and cool designs for villains and vehicules alike.
Someone searching for the Vader mask because it holds some kind of power or to use it as a catalyst for their own dark powers, that I might get behind.

Don't you think this just ties everything together pretty nicely? The opening scene of the movie is Boyega, in a drop ship, commanded to burn down a village to retrieve an artifact. The artifact, although we don't find out until later, is Luke's lightsaber. The remaining Empire is of course searching for their greatest enemy. Boyega refuses to torch the town when he encounters a little blue alien who he can't kill and who he not only saves, but is also carrying the saber with him. The blue alien says the saber must be taken to the desert planet.

They get shot down in their escape over the desert planet planet are picked up by Kira. Perhaps she watches the battle from her AT AT house. (I imagine this section of the movie will be much like A New Hope's opening). Kira brings the injured Trooper to the space port, where Max Von Sydow, the Collector, get's a look at the saber and explain's its importance to Kira, Trooper, and maybe even blue alien. He then makes a call...not to Han, like we've heard, but to the Empire.

The Falcon shows up. Kira has called it in. We don't see the connection yet or why she would be able to do that but they get on board as the Team of TIES from the trailer comes down on them. inside, where we expect to see Han and Chewie, we instead see Oscar Isaac;s Darklighter character. Kira: "It wasn't supposed to be you here." Darklighter:" He was busy." (This is bit is no way hinted at but I find it hard to believe old man Han is flying the Falcon in that trailer scene, plus we've heard the Star Destroyer rumour...which i'm getting to)

They blast their way off planet and when they meet up with the fleet, where Han is flying the Star Destroyer and it is revealed Kira is and has always been A Solo. She was on the desert planet waiting for the saber to be found...perhaps a mislead for the Empire?

And then the rest of the story kind of falls into place. I am also convinced that Driver is both Han and Leia's son and also the cross sabre baddie even at the start of the movie, which would explain the reveal in SPOILERS Act 3 when Luke tries to kill him and Han tries to save him.
