    I don't exactly remember how I felt about The Phantom Menace's ad campaign. You have to keep in mind that I'm the young blood of the site's staff - I was only six years old when it came out. (I do distinctly remember finding Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber to be hella rad in every ad it was shown in.)

    But of course, this was before the internet really blew up in popularity and before marketing got more aggressive. So a quieter approach for The Phantom Menace made more sense because that was the standard for the time. (And of course, we all knew that the marketing went absolutely apeshit in the weeks leading up to release, what with commercial tie-ins out the wazoo.)

    Using the quiet approach to The Force Awakens doesn't quite feel right because we live in the information age. I get that they want to preserve the magic of keeping a one-hundred-and-twenty-five-minute film under wraps, but come on. This is a movie people have been waiting to see for over thirty years. You've got every right to hype it up in the advertisements.

    Yea. I saw that. I wonder if it's intentional or just the artists rendition. And in the D23 her eyes are really dark even for squinting IMO. Again, I wonder.

    I am definitely under the impression he may have known her in the past. If she was simply someone with a power, he would be more mocking and derisive, combative. Not attached. The fact that he has an invested interest in her, "...Is it true?", says that either he has a near platonic interest and love of those with such prowess (unlikely, he's out to destroy the "last" Jedi right?) or there is a history here. The tone and manner of the question makes the latter sound more likely to me. We'll know soon enough!

    I think that line is him sensing the Force in her, right before she turns the tables on him during the interrogation, as MSW has documented.

    If Kylo Ren is actively looking for Luke Skywalker, then I really don't think that he's confined to a cameo at the end of the movie. At all.

    Everything keeps saying that Luke's important. Ending the movie there would not make any sense.
    "You will never be as powerful as Darth Vader!" or something to that effect.

    Luke is certainly important to the story. I don't think MSW has ever doubted that.
    That nobody knows where he is, also seems perfectly clear. Kylo/The Knights of Ren are looking for him, and Rey/Finn/Han are looking for him too.

    Maybe all that matters is that the good guys find him first?
