    Finally had a chance to go back and listen to that clip, and I don't hear what you guys are hearing at all. It doesn't remotely sound like he was about to give away the title to me.

    Oh yeah, listen maybe, like I said whether it be the title or not, Forces of Destiny trademark has a 2000 + word, lengthy and vast covering of services including motion pictures. I think we'll know soon enough.

    Rian Johnson might be giddy with anticipation for the Christmas holiday to come :)

    Not trying to be snide or anything, but... We've got good word on this. Rest assured that Forces Of Destiny is not the subtitle to Episode VIII. As for what the name was trademarked for, your guess is as good as mine. (Also worth noting is that the trademark only applies to Europe.)

    “When you apply to register an EU trademark, you do sign a form saying you intend to use it,” said Nick Philips.

    It would not be the first time that someone had applied for a trademark, either as a working title or even as a deliberate attempt to keep the pot of publicity boiling, Nick Philips said.

    Now here is every trademark applied for by LucasFilm and associated ‘Lucas’ companies for the last decade.

    Take a good look at the classes... then go ahead and decide for yourselves.

    We have to ask about Star Wars. What's the latest on Episode VIII? Have you watched an early cut yet or is it too soon?
    I watched a sizzle reel. I went to go see Rian in the edit, and that was very...[makes excited noise] Rian sounds very happy. It's very, very exciting. Rian doesn't love showing stuff. I've seen bits and bobs, but he likes it to be done. So I think probably the first time I see it will be when it's fully done. I don't think anyone will see an early cut outside of the main editing team....

    Have you heard anything about a trailer yet?
    No. I could probably ask, but Rogue One is out in like a week, so I guess we'll let that come out, be amazing, let people respond to that first. One step at a time! I know there's Celebration next year. Hopefully something will be shown there? That's speculation, by the way...

    Can you share one line of dialogue from the Episode VIII script?

    Honestly, I don't think it would hurt for Disney/Lucasfilm to release a 20-second teaser in front of Rogue One that features nothing but the release date and the film's subtitle. It won't spoil anything. It will only increase people's interest in the film.

    Heck, one year AFTER The Force Awakens' release and we are all still figuring out what the subtitle means.

    I'd agree, but the thing is that Lucasfilm has a very clear mindset about what we're going to get and when. Technically speaking, the first trailer for The Force Awakens was supposed to drop at Celebration in April, yet they decided to move it to November - which is, in turn, why there was a long gap between the second and third trailers for that movie, while the gap was much smaller for the second and third Rogue One trailers. The release pattern taking shape is clearly one where the first footage is revealed in April and two other trailers arrive over the course of the next six months, followed by an ad blitz.

    I don't think they're 'pesky' really, it's basically making fun of the fact that we have to wait for star wars movies, whilst a star wars movie was in theatres. It's like being forced to eat cake before you get ice cream HAHAHAHA

    i liked RO but i'm still much more interested in the episodic movies. I just have more invested in those.
