Are you kidding??? Can you not see the similarities? It's starting to look like a re-make of TESB to me in the same way that TFA was a remake of ANH.

How does this confirm that? Snoke, if he is supposed to be similar to anyone, he would resemble Palpatine from ROTS which would still be an understatement - his clothing has never had that much of bling. Yes, there is a new iteration of Super Star Destroyer but if anything, it will serve a similar purpose as the Second Death Star and that comparison is still a bit of a stretch. Moreover, at what point of Episode V or VI was Sidious disappointed with Vader (except for time when Vader threw Palpie into the abyss?) Long story short - no, I cannot see the similarities, especially based on that post.

    From the looks of it:
    • The hero receiving Jedi training on an obscure remote planet that the bad guys aren't supposed to know about.
    • Gigantic Star Destroyer chasing down the resistance
    • Large land battle happening on a salt/snow plain featuring the bad guys attacking a rebel base, with huge walkers.
    • Good guys scattered across the galaxy, being chased by the bad guys
To quote MSW - "The First Order is not messing around in The Last Jedi. They’re relentlessly hunting the Resistance Fleet in the film and Poe and his gang have a reason to run. The First Order is more fearsome than we thought and they don’t even have a Starkiller this time."

The only thing we haven't heard about yet is someone being encased in carbonite, but even then we possibly have a parallel with Leia reportedly being in a coma.

I'm not saying this is a shot for shot remake, but the sweeping themes of the movie do appear very similar to ESB - and that's not necessarily a bad thing as we all love that movie.

The costume description seems a lot more like what they wanted Sheev to look like in TESB. Specifically, that he'd be decked-out in gold robes. Don't remember where I read that part, just that it was on the cards in one of the earlier drafts (which would have involved Darth Vader's castle).

But you know that's all your points are pretty generic and vague? Do these films use similar tropes? Sure they do. But from what we know they will use them in a different way and if that's the case, then it won't be a remake. If we would look at TPM the same way as some people look at TFA, it would also be considered a "copycat," "ripoff," "unoriginal film," etc. because of its usage of similar tropes yet we don't hear that. Why? Because they're utilized differently (not neccesarily in a successfull manner but that's not the point.)

Is it just me or is anyone else really curious as to why all of a sudden is MSW bursting with new scoops. Ward seems to be the only real source of leaked insider type spoiler information thus far. Not that I necessarily have a side to take as I have no issues with Ward but it seems like maybe he has worked himself into being a sole back channel source of "unofficial" information to the spoiler hound SW fan base. The ways things are going it gives off the vibe maybe there is a quiet official higher level choice being made by the powers that be over at LFL.

Let's see some of the info get spread around. I think there is a big danger in there only being one source.

Ward has great sources obviously and has has been highly accurate since a little bit into Force Awakems. It is his sources so he gets all the clicks.

I give Jason Ward and the other MSW crew their props. They do an excellent job and produce good and highly accurate spoilers. With TFA I was all in on everything he wrote, which spoiled major aspects of the film for me but I think this time around I'll be more selective in the spoilers I read. Hearing about someones outfit or weapon is one thing, hearing about major scenes or situations is another.

And on the TLJ is too much like TESB, I've said it before that it's a growing concern of mine that some elements are mirroring (or sounds like they are) but I do trust Rian Johnson to make a great film and will have an open mind going in to the film. And if my fears were just fanboy hysteria I'll be the first to say I was wrong and that I should have always known Disney would learn from TFA/ANH backlash...and if I was right..well, let's hope I'm not. :)

I wonder if Poe will venture beyond the confines of an X-wing cockpit at any point in this saga because he feels too much like an ancillary character and less like a core character (Finn, Rey). I know that Poe is the Resistance's ace pilot, but I really want more from the character than just fighting in the requisite space battles.

I don't think the spoilers he gets are really true 'leaks' anymore but controlled releases for us hardcores. I may be wrong. But I find it interesting that his sources almost seemed to be mindful not to let MSW steal too much of RO's thunder as it was coming out. Now that it has been out on DVD/Bluray for a bit all of a sudden we are getting a deluge of TLJ info. Perhaps that was just Jason's choice. I wouldn't be surprised if 99% of the past 2 weeks of spoilers MSW has revealed will be hinted at/seen/spoken about in the various SWC panels this week (Laura Dern's name, planet names, new walkers, costumes, etc).

That is exactly what I am thinking. This latest surge does not seem organic at all. I think LFL-Disney has done an excellent job of controlling information on TLJ. I am thinking iron fist info control has stopped internal side leakage pressure. All the while LFL-Disney is using a sort of passive control on external side leakage pressure by offering "exclusives" or some type carrot to get websites like MSW to play ball with them nicely or else face the wrath of a massive legal team death squad. I am not saying that it is a bad thing entirely I am just thinking its been very effective this time around. It gets us the info we want all the while keeping it from over-saturating the general public.

Exactly. I'm fine with it if true. We get our tidbits to munch on and Disney can maybe guard some more critical plot spoilers from coming out.
