I dont know for wich character I'm most anxious to see. If is Luke and his first words, or if is Snoke (if they show him) version in pratical effect (if the rumors are.true).

 

It is definitely Luke for Me ..

 

Can't wait to fear the beard once more.

 

Am I the only one who somewhat hopes that Luke doesn't talk in the marketing for this movie? We can still see great and exciting shots that raise a lot of questions, but I feel that to hear him talking in trailers or TV spots before the release of the film could undo potentially one of the smartest marketing campaigns for a film: everyone will want to know Luke's first words, as they already do.

That being said, I wouldn't mind if he narrated the trailer/s (sort of like he did with TFA Anaheim trailer) with some new dialogue exclusive to the trailers to give it context (and hype it up more than hearing his 129th word onwards to 150th from the film).

 

I can see where you are coming from but being as this probably isn't going to be a teaser, I think they almost have to include Luke speaking (if there is dialogue in this trailer) for the sake of not pissing too many fans off. The only way I can see them not having Luke speak and still please those fans out there who want to hear him speak is to show a lot of Luke in action and maybe have Rey or someone else refer to Luke.

I think it's possible that the last shot is him talking or igniting his lightsaber, as I said before, I don't mind what they show, but "what are Luke's first words going to be?" would have been a great choice of mouth-to-mouth marketing for the film.

Heck, imagine if Yoda is narrating this thing!

 

I think John Campea on Jedi Council said he would like a Yoda-narrated trailer...hmmmmmmmmmm.

 

So... The Last Jedi [ever]? Or will Rey serve as the one who brings Luke, The Last Jedi, back from the edge here?

As has been discussed before, I see the Jedi coming back (after some great difficulty). I think the Jedi are too integral to the Star Wars Galaxy to go extinct. Another trilogy will be coming at some point as well. There's a synonymous relationship there. After everything Luke has seen and been through, of course he's disillusioned and depressed. He has to see that there is hope. Rey, I think, will do that for him. I see VIII ending with Luke coming back as the Jedi Master he is, ready to finally play his role in the Galaxy, and in Episode IX, when the New Jedi rise.

The expectation for the return of the Jedi has been built up quite a bit, so it seems to me highly unlikely that all of these old and new characters are preparing for the much-needed return of the Jedi, just for Luke remain done, in hiding. Like Daisy said, you sometimes mee your heroes, only to find them as... not who you expected. Ever see a movie where someone meets their hero, and has to talk them into coming back? That's the story I see here. (Did any of the crew's recommended films include that theme, by the way?)

I see what you're saying, I absolutely adore Carrie, and Leia is one of the most important female characters of 20th century popular culture, but to force her into Ep.9 just to make one last homage would be gross in the extreme! Sorry, Darth Basin the Greatest, but to compromize the integrity of Star Wars to show a couple more frames of Leia would be disasterous in the extreme.LFL should let her to shine as much as possible in 8, but if it doesn't make sense to "resurrect" Carrie Fisher for episode 9, then doing so would just be disgusting.
