Oh, totally. I'm just playing along with the theme.

However - Mon Mothma was getting nowhere politically until Jyn commandeered the ship of soldiers, who said "we're with you!" (Almost like Hillary's campaign - "I'm with Her.")

And by the end of the film, though she needed the men, she was clearly in charge and leading the mission.

It's all in jest but still - people aren't wrong to point it out in regards to the new LFL films with Kennedy.

 

Plagueis' species is unknown!

 

Canto Bight looks very familiar. Both like Jabbas palace and something out of the prequels.

 

Are they boats, in the first image?

The vibe is very prequel-ish, but with something of Cloud City. The domes make it feel very close to Coruscant landscapes, but the roofs keep it very grounded. I would say "Naboo", but Naboo was too clean and perfect, and it had a renaissance vibe that didn't match with SW in general to me. Canto Bight seems much more "dark" and "mysterious", more dirty, like a true port city should be (have you ever been in Venice? or in Genoa?).

Guys please stop pointing out the similarities to the prequels. We've already been told that Disney is purposefully avoiding all thing prequels and Lucas and just making their entire own new worlds!

Can you Post a lInk to the official statement saying that they're staying away from the prequels ? I'm pretty sure no such official statement was ever made or released. But I'd be happy to read it if it exists.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Harloff spoke with Rian (via Twitter) and clarified that Serkis' performance was a combination of performance-captured and mo-cap, not just mo-cap.

You definitely have the right idea. The exterior shots are enhanced images from Dubrovnik, a coastal Croatian city, which was a merchant republic, similarly to Genoa and Venice but with Slavic poulation instead, until Napoleon conquered it in 1806.

I think that before Carrie's death Poe was going to co-lead the Resistance with Leia, but now it seems that he will be the sole leader.

That's always been the case with Andy Serkis' work, so this comment doesn't change too much.

 

I'm only sharing because there's apparently a difference between the two and Rian didn't know until Harloff asked. Also, EW quoted Rian as saying it was mo-cap. No worries, just an FYI more than anything.

 

Motion capture is apparently only body movement, without facial expressions. Performance capture is about capturing facial expressions.
