Good Evevening Fellow Star Warriors, the quest for tonight is.........................

    How Long Is The Force?

We invite you all to take a moderate guess to determine how long it will be The Force Awakens now that we received the news that editing work version of The Force Awakens is around 4 hours, 240,00 min, and the regular lenght of comercial movies is around the 1.5 Hours, roughly 100,00 min.

Remember, we're asking the Lenght of the Comercial Normal Version, not Directors and Collectors Editions.

A Tip, an inside scope reported the Force with 124,00 min, is it true?.
Another Tip, JJ Abrams Star Trek Movies went 127 and 133 min.

My personal Choice will be the Extended Version, but i really wanted the Force to be at least 6 hours long, just for pleasure (i can't get enough SW)

Man, my mind went straight to the gutter, I could only think of hollywood babble-on's Liam Neeson jokes...
It also didn't help that I use the metric system!

    I went for regular "size" 90 m(eters) to 120 m(eters) :)

Think this post is already dead, because in our country the official lenght we get from our movie tickets say 136 Minutes (1 hour and 16 min), and i repeat this is the official mileage. (that's way, we the portuguese were joking around, because we already know)

If you are asking physical length, then that would mean you are asking "What length would a physical 35mm print of Star Wars The Force Awakens be?" (In a digital file, physical length means nothing).

For the physical length of a 35mm theatrical print, your numbers are way off.

In a standard theatrical, 4-perf 35mm film print, there are 52 frames (2.2 seconds) for every meter of length.

For the Star Wars films released so far:
The shortest is: A New Hope at 121 minutes, 3,319.3 meters.
The longest is: Attack of the Clones at 142 minutes, 3,895.3 meters.

So, no matter what length Star Wars The Force Awakens ends up at, the ONLY possible choice is the fifth one..."More than 200 m" (i.e., "More than 7 minutes 20 seconds")

(I didn't think it would be honest —or fair— for me to win this contest, without saying something!). :)

(Note added later: it's very very late for me here and I am very tired.... so it takes a while to get to the point where I go "Wait a minute... m can mean meters or m can mean minutes..... *face palm* ...

The above numbers are still absolutely correct for 35mm film. (15-perf/70mm (IMAX) lengths are roughly 4 times longer!)

I used to work projection at a movie theater. I am intimately familiar with how long movies are -- especially when one broke and spilled all over the projection room (How did it spill all over is a complicated answer! Trust me: it was a long time picking up!)

I still think your contest is a great idea.

Star Wars The Force Awakens could be any length between 121 minutes (3320 m) and 142 minutes (3895 m). Lots of room for winners and losers :)

Maybe not "any length." As Kuroth Wain already pointed out above, Fandango lists a running time for Star Wars The Force Awakens of 2 hours:16 minutes.
If the exhibitors are quoting an exact running time, then that's what Disney has promised, and will deliver. Exhibitors require exact running times so they can accurately schedule screenings, before they can sell tickets. As you may be aware, they have been selling tickets for three weeks now.
"It's easier to cut, than to add."
As I have pointed out elsewhere, the 4-hour-long cut was the version shown to Daniel Fleetwood, and is normal for features: they start with long assemblies, then spend months trimming and tightening until the target running time (in this case 136 minutes) is achieved.

I think what Disney gave fandango is the rough target range. Well..... That and my username both end in 136. I kid you not...

Everything here is shown digital, too.
The Force Awakens was shot on film, and there will be film prints made for parts of the world that have not converted yet.
Who were you asking this to?
