Here's one:

KOTOR is great but it's extremely different from the tone of the films, and fans still chasing that high will never be satisfied by new canon.

 

Nice thread, Here is some more I thought of.

1. Kylo Ren looks cooler than Vader.
2. Donald Glover performance in Solo was nothing special.
3. K2S0 is not that great.
4. A Star Wars movie written and directed by Dave Filoni would make me nervous. I really do not know why.
5. Fathiers are great.
6. Jolee Bindo is way wiser than Yoda.

Thank you about Boba Fett! Ha ha ha !Glad it’s not just me . I don’t get the obsession with him. I know someone whose favourite character in entire original trilogy was Boba Fett . Just seems odd when he’s in there for about 5 or 10 mins . Each to their own though if it’s what they like .


- I second or third Kylo Ren is the most complex character they’ve had in Star Wars and excited to see where his character goes and what he does in episode 9
- I liked the prequels ( except the pod race in phantom menace..,)
- Empire is not my favourite Star Wars movie
- Star Wars is predominantly fantasy but just happens to be set in space
- I like the sequel trilogy so far ...

 

Because of the second half of ROTJ, we look at Luke at this great hero and more or less look over the fact that for 2 and a half movies he was a pretty awful hero. A lot of the faults people found with his character in TLJ are very much alive and present in the OT, and they aren't exactly hard to find.

Rose is a good character and I find her backstory/introduction fascinating.

Empire's A plot isn't interesting. In my two most recent viewings of Empire I've found myself fast forwarding completely through Dagobah.

Which leads me into this, Yoda doesn't do it for me. He never has. But his theme is awesome.

 

Some more...

Mark Hamill's acting in the OT is pretty horrendous, save some decent moments.

Phasma is a better character than Boba.

Rey is way more likeable than Anakin or Luke.

Leia using the force is a more powerful scene than Yoda lifting the X-wing.

Mace Windu is a scumbag.

L3 is nowhere near as annoying as threepio, not even close.

General Grievous' theme is the best.

The prequels have by far the best soundtrack.

Roses are red, Tico is not, I like Sebulba, he's hot.

 

Mmmmmm let's see....

-In general, I kinda relate more to villains than to heroes and root for the bad guys.
-City planets (like Coruscant or Bespin) are better than most natural non-CG planets. Come on sequels!

-The prequels are as awesome as the originals and the sequels.
-The world of the prequels is the most interesting in all Star Wars.
-Dooku and Griveous are GREAT villains.
-Little Anakin is not THAT annoying.
-What was annoying was Palpatine's face while in combat. Seriously, what was THAT?
-The romance in Attack of the Clones kinda works. We've all said (and done) cringe romantic stuff when we were younger.

-Yub Nub is way better than the final version.
-Not really a hot take, but Lapti Nek is miles ahead of Jedi Rocks.
-Is it me or Return of the Jedi has some awful green screens?


-Don't really care about Finn since The Force Awakens.
-Please tone down BB8. I don't want it to take the entire FO by itself.
-I hate the tentacle monsters in all the Disney era movies.
-Hux is a joke in the Last Jedi. I don't want villains to be a joke.
-Rogue One soundtrack is better than the sequels soundtrack.
-I didn't like Snoke's design. This one is WAAAAAYYYY cooler.

 

Loved Solo. It was Stars Wars firefly edition.
Kylo is a cry baby and I don't care if he gets squished under Jabba butt. I have zero investment in him. Give me back Anakin!!
Hux is a coward!!
Poe is a knock off of Wash and Han.
Finn is a great character.
Phasma is god dang sexy!!!!!! Strong woman.
Don't need my SW movies discussing who is banging who L3 or Lando. Cause robots don't have rights!!! If I can reboot you, you are a tool.!!
I hate pod racing god whole scene was just dumb to me, ok the kid can fly but holy S&^# stop.
One of the best scene in any of them was the rancor pit.
I think Rebels suck.
Battle for Endor was way under rated.
Padame used Anakin.

 

Now that you mention it, I agree. I think everyone anticipated him being amazing, and he was definitely fine, but I don't think he lived up to the hype.


Anyway, some more...

- The Yuuzhan Vong was actually a decent story, especially by Legends standards

-I'm honestly not that bothered by doomsday devices being frequent plot points.

- Star Wars is best when it's real mystical (World Between Worlds), or leans into the grit. I don't love when the two are mixed.

- Pretending that enjoying the fictional Empire is enabling real life fascists is a terrible take, and you should feel bad

-On a similar line, asserting that Reylo shippers enable real life predatory or abusive relationships is also a real bad take

- IG-88 is the best designed ESB bountr hunter, from lore and aesthetic perspectives.

-The Hutt/scum faction has the worst and most boring designed ships

- I don't really mind the "one biome" trope

- I really don't care about stuff like Darth Vader's costume seeing slight changes between movies, or barely altered stormtrooper armor.

- I'm kind of sick of the Jedi, and want one of the new triloges to not have any significant force sensitive characters. OR, only a single force sensitive villain.

 

So just to clarify...

2. I've only read the first few books

3. I'm aware that there's like a million of them. Is it that bloat that people hate about it?

I actually kind of liked how alien it felt because hey, that's kinda the point.

But maybe it would've dragged more on me if I'd bothered to read all
