(IDEAS) If you had the chance to create a new Star Wars universe...

I would keep things as Lacas had in his six movies but I would make some non-human main characters.

 

I would have stuck with the expanded universe if I could have chosen. It was so full of incredible characters, locales, plot elements, and general excitement. I wish Disney would have chosen this route as well, but just augmented the EU's story lines to fit into their new movies, and chosen authors to rewrite/edit the novels in order to create a smooth running canon. I enjoy the new canon novels/comics, but the flavor and originality of the EU is missing so far, and I hope they realize that in order to keep Star Wars great, they have to go out on a limb and add some unique and surprising plot lines. Jacen Solo makes Kylo Ren look sad.

 

I would make new stories and add new characters but without trying to get rid of almost everything created by George Lucas.

 

Ideally, I'd like for the PT and the OT to feel just a little more meshed together. I don't mind having the PT be brighter and happier looking (actually, I like that) but I think that the tech shouldn't feel completely alien to the OT.

If anything, I think that the PT tech should feel aesthetically more pleasing, but the OT tech should be slightly more efficient. We even technically see this in canon (turbolasers being better than Clone Wars era lasers) but other stuff (like the visual displays) just don't even compare.


Also- and don't hate me for this- I wouldn't mind having more references to the PT in the OT. Seeing B1 battle droids laying in scrap piles, crashed Trade Federation landers, etc. The Clone Wars was a huge war- the devastation across the galaxy should still be seen and apparent, even 20 years after its end.

That being said, that is only in my idealized version of Star Wars where it was like that from the beginning and no one ever knew anything else. I absolutely would not want changes to be made to the existing films to accommodate for this.

 

I Would Make A Book About Coleman Trebor Being Stuck On A Planet, A Video Game Or Comic Series About An Imperial Officer Collecting Sith Artifacts, A Game About Darth Malgus, A Rogue Squadron Esc Game. A General Grievous Movie About His Body Coming Back To Life (Like A Legends Story) A Jar Jar Movie, More Jango Fett Stuff, A Poe Dameron Movie, But He’s Revealed To Be Mandalorian, A Story Set 1 Billion Years After Episode 9 Where Droids Have Taken Over The Galaxy, Reveal Snoke Is Palpatine In Something, Make Negative Episodes, A New Clone Wars Show, And Finally Reveal Yoda’s Species

 

I mentioned this in another thread but I'd jump 1,000 years into the future and do completely new kinds of stories! Just a radical departure without all the baggage of the OT. No Empires, Rebels, civil wars, standard light side/dark side conflicts etc. Reinvent it from its concept-base with a totally fresh visual aesthetic and a different style of dialogue.
