    Good evening friends,

    Let's get down to business.

First, I have stated in other threads that Max Von Sydow is providing the narration for the first "awakening" dialogue. I took myself to task this evening, as I do not want to be so blindly adamant, and broke out my Bose. Not to start an audiophile debate here on a Star Wars forum, but Bose headphones are always the go to for me when I am writing and need to shut out the world. I know there is a huge debate among audiophiles and the like about whether Bose tends to manipulate frequencies, ultimately making them sound artificial. I do not know what it is about Bose, but whether it be a headphone or stereo system, the sound is almost perfect to me.

I watched the trailer 7 times with my Bose. Friends, if you don't have a good sound system, or are sick of your wife/husband making fun of you for repeatedly streaming it through the TV, a good pair of headphones takes this trailer to a whole other level. That being said, I believe Max Von Sydow to be the first narrator and the second, "the dark side....and the light" I believe to be Adam Driver.

I went through a heavy YouTube binge listening to different inflections of Adam Driver. Also, my wife had force-fed me(no pun intended) every episode of Girls, which I used our HBO GO to cross-reference this evening.

Those are my two-cents, wrong or right, I'm throwing them in.

    And then my inbox.....

    There....is.....another....t...rail....er.....errrrrr

That was my Yoda/ROTJ death scene impersonation.

They did not see this recently released, 88-second teaser because it was so rushed, so one of them says.

What they had seen is the next, 60-second trailer, which could eventually be longer. They say they were as shocked and excited about this last trailer as we all were, but feel it might be the swan song of JJ's marketing ambiguity. The next teaser, which they expect on or around December 25th, or early January, is to feature some more familiar faces....

    Stay tuned

And post script: Don't count on this "mystery box" stuff being around much longer. From the tone of the memos my sources have seen, Disney is going to proceed with much more straightforward marketing campaign. Star Trek: Into Darkness, with all its deceptions, did not bode well for box office receipts or reception, and this film is the flagship of Disney's $4 billion investment. $4 billion, don't forget that number. Count on Disney/Lucasfilm playing it safe. That doesn't mean they are going to hand out screenplays online, just expect to hear some dialogue the next go around.

    More familiar faces?

Like the faces of IG-88, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, Boskk, Wuher, Wicket, Logray, and the almighty Sarlaac?

hasn't nearly every other site confirmed that it is ANDY SERKIS thats doing the voiceover? If you compare that with his Cesar voice they are not that far apart.

I wonder if John Williams recorded the music to TWO trailers already! A new, longer, trailer would be a nice Christmas present.

I've never believed in this 'Mystery Box' so far as TFA is concerned. So much of the concept art has been validated by the teaser, and many rumours have proven correct. That's poor security, not a masterstroke of disinformation. Up until now, TFA is more likely to have been a stress-fraught and rushed project given script problems, Disney forcing a release date into being, and Harrison Ford's appallingly-timed injury. The teaser looks bare, rushed, oddly structured and cheap for such an expensive tentpole franchise. From this point in, as others of you have suggested in this thread, Disney and Lucasfilm have got to make the next 12 months count resoundedly. Marketing's been so dire that sites like this one could easily be considered official SW news outlets - they've kept me interested and excited, while not spoiling the entire movie.

I don't think the production was stress-fraught and rushed more than any other major tent-pole. I read Drew's blog over at Hitfix. He seems to have close contacts to someone in the production and continually drop small hints, both in his blog posts and his video post "Ask Drew". And the same thing he reiterates is the positive vibe coming from the production itself. Everyone involved seem to think and feel they are on the right track. And the he himself has never been more positive about the future of Star Wars right now. Off course it can always be debated how much this really means, and only the final product will tell.

But look at it like this. This trailer did not show ANY of the old actors, no R2-D2 or 3PO - in my opinion no need to cater to simple nostalgia, but more smart - like the familiarity, the setting and the mood. And the all new faces showing us where we are going from here. Thats confidence! They know and feel they have something really special and good on their hands - and I will trust them for now ;).

EDIT: try watching this video about the state of star wars - http://www.hitfix.com/videos/quality-assurance-for-star-wars-fans-ask-drew-episode-111

Well, there's plenty of nostalgia ... desert planet just like Tatooine, stormtroopers, X-wings, TIE Fighters and Falcon. It looked like a collection of Return of the Jedi out-takes. Not any great sense it was a fresh and dynamic beginning for the new saga ... a retro-crowd pleasing Greatest Hits compilation with young faces pasted in. Fair enough if that's its true intent and not a lack of forward-facing focus.

I'm not trying to be pointedly negative, ... I'm going to have an open mind, despite how the film's been marketed this year, until I've seen the film a few times to get a proper measure of it.

as i mentioned in another thread, the only reason i think we might take a second teaser rumour seriously was the kind of, dare i say, "lazy attitude" taken with online release for the teaser.

Debuting on Apple trailers felt weird to me, so many folks i know and comments streaming through twitter all commented that they wanted to "wait for the youtube version". Then the first person to grab the apple teaser was a trailer site on youtube which then flooded all social media platforms. If disney hasn't copyright claimed i think the trailer site version is easily beating the official release. Then finally star wars YT channel finally released a copy.

It just felt like disney was saying "meh" to this specific teaser? Maybe i'm alone in this? The marketing didn't feel very coherent and the viewing audience was so easily split between different sites.

I just wonder if a second teaser with OT actors is coming as a "surprise", and just uploaded to the official YT channel with a tweet saying "merry christmas...may the force be with you"

Everyone I've talked to has told me since Thursday night the voice in the teaser was Serkis. I think it would be strange for Max von Sydow's character to say those words, if my information on those matters is correct. Just sayin'.

Another trailer possibly on Christmas. That would be awesome!

I have a pair of small Bose speakers hooked up to my PC, and they do sound good.

Mr Von Sydow does carry an accent and I don't think it was audible in any of the narration? There's also always some degree of weariness in the voice of an actor of his age group. It seemed more like a deep, guttural but more measured 'Gollum' ... or it's another actor with some audio FX tinkering, but not MvS.

He has a lovely, meditative, chewing-the-scenery turn of voice.
