Incredible show with one problem

    I love Bad Batch. It's maybe the most cinematic thing Lucasfilm Animation has ever done. The lighting, the music, the action sequences, the character-based storytelling. It's just superb.

    But I have one gripe, and maybe some of you have more insight into this than me:

    The texture animation.

    Obviously, a TV show will never have the animation quality of a theatrical release. That's not what I'm asking for.

    When I look at other 3D-animated streaming shows, like some of the stuff my daughter watches, I see texture simulations for things like hair, skin, grass. And in today's world, those sorts of texture/physics simulations are pretty standard and sometimes even open-source at high quality.

    But in Bad Batch, despite the high quality of everything else, those textures--skin, hair, grass, metal--feel almost as chunky and clay-like as they did in 2008.

    so what I'm wondering is: why? Is there a reason for this? Is there a cost I'm not thinking of? And does it bug anyone else?
