I'm using "nerd" as a term of endearment here. Well, mostly. I've seen him on the boards here in Twitter reposts, debunking rumors. For me, that's boarder line. I would think he has better things to do. But now, this morning, he's talking about how "he knows how rebels ends". Well, OF COURSE HE DOES, HE WORKS ON THE DAMN THING!!

Is the nerd in him overriding his professionalism? I think maybe so

    What do you guys think?

I'm glad that he is going on these boards and reading our thoughts, theories and opinions. It will let him know what we as fans want, which will make Rebels even better. It's great to see when directors or producers interact with their fanbase in the midst of their project(s) :p. I dont think is "nerd" is overriding his "professionalism". p.s (Dave Filoni if you're reading this bring Wedge back, I've read "Aftermath"....XD)

Some co-workers and I actually had the "who is the king of the nerds" conversation last week. Our conclusion was that a true king among nerds must professionally do really cool/nerdy stuff, do their cool and nerdy stuff for reasons besides simply making money (making money with it is still ok, but doing it for other reasons as well, such as bringing a new technology to the masses, or telling a story that others want to hear is essential), and personally they be just as passionate about their work as their fans are. We decided Elon Musk is the undisputed king of the nerds. Dave Filoni and George Lucas do both get honorable mention however.

...I don't think so. It's called "communicating" and it works on so many levels to bring in PR, free marketing, and old/new fans. If anything, Hidalgo is the "king of the nerds" ... Also the definition of NERD is very vague .

I'm not sure I follow. Boarder line what? Why shouldn't he tweet; many creators do.

Also, a lot of creators don't know how their stories will end. Him knowing the end of rebels just means there is a plan with an ending. I mean, does Kathleen Kennedy or JJ know what the ending to star wars is? I don't mean episode 9, but rather the last star wars movie.

Ok, so for you, he is.

    Thank you

What I mean by borderline is, is his desire for nerd cred overriding his professionalism? And, of course he should tweet, or post, or whatever. It just seems to me that some subject matter wouldn't justify his time. I saw a tweet where someone suggested an ending to VIII, and he responded that the script wasn't even done yet. It seems to me that he should be above that, but it's a way for him to slip in that he's working on it and knows things. Did his inner nerd override his professionalism? And in doing so, make him king of the nerds?

And by nerds I mean guys like Brian Poesan, Kevin Smith, that trivia guy in the trucker hat and nerd glasses, and the nerd in all of us! That thing that makes you say, "I wish I had his job!"

    Anyways, just an observation

Bahahaha, I had no idea that there was such a thing as 'nerd cred', nor that one could, or would, have a desire for it.

If you're King of the Nerds, do you get like a nerd crown or something? Keys to the nerd city?

OK, I confess, I really have no idea what this topic is about, but it sure made me laugh out loud.
