so we all saw the fight between master Windu and darth Sidious. it's quite apparent he fell to his death following darth Vatard whacking off his hand and that blast of Sheev's lightning. but could have Mace survived his dramatic plummit?
Darth Maul made it after getting cut in two but Mace Windu only lost his hand.
could Mace make an appearance in a spin-off or Rebels if this is true?

    what's your oppionion?

here's a mockup of what Mace could look like in Rebels by a fan....
    Star_Wars_Rebels_Mace_Windu_(Fan_Art).jpg
by the way it was fans that saved Maul, could they save Windu too?

I'm not sure if he's alive or not, but they left an opening for him to return if they choose to write him into a new canon novel or comic. I doubt he would be in the new trilogy as he would be almost 100 years old by the time of The Force Awakens occurs. If he survived the fall from Sidious' office, he would probably go into the lower sections of Coruscant to hide out in or return to his homeworld and disappear into the jungles of Haruun Kal.

I would be up for a Mace Windu spinoff, very underutilized character.

IF they bring him back, he'd fit nicely into the Obi-Wan Spin-off.

Alas, poor Mace. He took a nasty spill out of the Chancellor's window. If he survived he must have the same power as my gay friend Gandalf the White, formerly Gray as some of you may know him. I hope this was the case for Master Windu.

It's a possibility. I definitely think Fulcrum was an established character we'll be see again in person later in Rebels.

Sadly, Mace is dead. Hands cut off, a thousand foot fall, being 100 years old, it's just all too much.

    R.I.P. Mace Windu

But he only lost 1 hand and he wasn't 100 years old.

The title of this thread is "IS MACE WINDU STILL ALIVE?"

Presumably the term "still" is in reference to now, and now is Episode 7. So for a Jedi Master who is 50+ at the time of Palpatine's rise to power, he would be very close to a hundred years old. Luke was twenty-ish in ANH. And E7 is taking place 30 years after the end of OT. So Mace would be about 50 + 20 + 30. That my friend is 100.

Now as far as losing one hand, I'll concede that point. But still, one hand cut off, falling 1000 feet, and being 100 years old still means that Windu is almost certainly dead.

In the opening post I was refering to him being in a spin-off or Rebels not Episode 7.

Oh, I apologize. My reading comprehension needs improvement.

Ok, one hand cut off, falling 1000 feet, Mace might have conceivably survived.

Thing is, if Mace isn't dead, he can't be a Force Ghost! :) I would love to see him go at a Force Ghost Vader in single verbal combat! ;)

Now I thought the force ghost thing was invented by Qwi Gon and was used to talk to Yoda in E2 and E3. From there Yoda taught Obi Wan, and upon Obi Wan's death Vader learned about it. Hence the only Jedi who can be a force ghost are Qwi Gon, Yoda, Obi Wan, Anakin, and Luke assuming he figured it out.

Given a number of criteria, it is very logical that he survived.

    1. Mace had his hand cut off. Numerous star wars characters are surviving victims of such dismemberment. Check.

    2. Mace was electricuted with force lightning by Palpatine. Luke suffered the same punishment, but for a longer period of time than Mace and survived. Check.

    3. Mace was definistrated from an unimaginable height. If we remember, Anakin flung himself from a speeder, and after falling thousands of feet, somehow managed to grab hold of another moving speeder. It is quite possible Mace accomplished a similar feat. And while the velocity Mace was traveling at was likely considerably higher since he was pushed with force, it is also possible he used the force to slow himself down. Check.

    4. Other characters have beaten the odds. Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and potentially Boba Fett. Check.

Unless the properties of the force are changing, hence the 'awakening'.

It's completely possible he survived. Would I see a stand-alone movie about Mace, probably not?
Sam Jackson was never a proper actor to take that role, it painfully stands out every time he opens his mouf.

I'll take a solid story arc featuring him in Rebels perhaps... or briefly mentioned in Ep. VII and the road he paved
    for future rebels.
