Maybe I am the only person that gets angry about this but one thing that pissed me off since Disney bought Lucasfilm is how everybody thinks Disney is doing the movies now.

They own Lucasfilm but Lucasfilm still operates as a own studio in Disneys eco system. (no budget restrains...etc.etc)
Disney is paying for the movies and does the marketing, but every creative decision is made by the talented people at Lucasfilm and the Producers/screenwriter/directors they hire.

It feels so weird how people get this with the marvel movies but not with the star wars movies.

PS: I'm not trashing Disney here. It just annoys me a little bit. Give Lucasfilm some love man. ;)

That had to be said, thanks for reading.

Quite right. I think because of SW being sthg that roots deeply in a lot of peoples personal mindset that are grown ups in the meantime, it has an enthusiastic but also extremly critical fandom. Not a little number of them feel like they "own" it in some way because it is really an important part of their childhood memmories. Therefore it is a very emotional thing.
Now as grown ups we have learned to hide our "ownership claims" behind rational arguments and statistics.
But I cannot see real objectivity in a lot of the threads here (including my own posts :)).
We are "kids" here, playing around with our personal, very individual preferences and stereotypes like "LF sold out its soul to the big industry devil" instead of understanding that George Lucas saved his people a job by letting go (and enable a future for LF & SW) OR (one of my own) "TLJ is supercool and I don't want to hear anything else from anybody". :D
I have a not always friendly reality in my everydays life; HERE in Cantina, I AM a big kid :D..
but that's why I am (still) here :)

Yeah . . . it's Lucasfilm all right. Despite Disney creating a "Star Wars Land" in their amusement parks. Or the fact that the Disney suits have a word on how these movies will turn out.

And yet your favourite Disney SW film is Rogue One, which has the greatest amount of executive input out of the new three and the one you like the least is The Last Jedi, which is Rian Johnson's film first and foremost.

What is the point of this comment? Why did you bring up my feelings about "Rogue One"? Am I expected to change my mind about "Rogue One" and "The Last Jedi"? Is that what you're expecting?

All I did was point out that the Disney suits have a say in the Lucasfilm movies' content. Which means to me, Lucasfilm is Disney. The studio owns the production company.

Alright, @CTrent29 , I get ya. "Disney suits" have a say in the LFL films content.
    I'm sure they do.
    I'll agree with yer opinion
I'd think that the Story Group has a bit more than them.
    It's never just one.
    Not anymore anyways.
But I agree with the Original Poster that it's much more LucasFilm than 'Disney'.
