I think Episode VIII is in good hands with Rian Johnson, but will go into it cautiously optimistic, a year and a half to go now!

I´m incredibly looking forward to it. There is so much story possibilitiesand to much to discover that I just can´t figure out what will happened in EPVIII. But I´m pretty sure it will be another amazing chapter in SW universe.
Let´s wait few months till first rumours about shooting (and story) will be known.

I'm hoping Rian Johnson will fully explore the backstories of the characters then advance them forward towards the new storyline. I'm hopeful, although i'm also pretty sure JJ will say everything is amazing..... I mean he's the producer.

Since it is the middle of the trilogy I believe he will expand on them, to me it seems like Episode VIII will focus more on Luke and Rey ----- Snoke and Kylo Ren.

I really hope it is. The Force Awakens has been a great starting point and such amazing in order to recover the original spirit of the franchise. Once that has been achived it, now is turn to go deep as ESB did in past and also to try to amend the problems on the script on VII, caused maybe due to trying to tell too much in 2 hours. I have not make any step in VIII buit after TFA cannot wait for it.

    In Rian we trust!

I could see some mirrored scenes as Luke trains Rey and Snoke trains Kylo Ren. Showing the differences between light and dark.

Rian Johnson has been brought in for that reason, he's brilliant at creating and advancing characters. Same reason JJ was brought in for TFA - he's superb at creating worlds and introducing characters.

I super agree. We have both the FO and resistance taking a huge hit, with both apprentices going back to their masters for more training. Seems like the movies skipped past 30 years of peace and now we are right back into the thick of it :)

I agree, TFA is a great starting point for this trilogy, and I loved how it still has that original spirit and magic as all six of its predecessors have. The saga is in good hands. I can't wait for Episode VIII.

Well... can anyone actually imagine him saying "well, I saw the script and I didn't quite like it"? They'll always say everything's amazing, it's called "marketing", "generating hype", such kind of things.
