Nope, this was actually for the older fans this time around. PT was for the under 12 and didn't give a crap about the older STAR WARS fans.

No kidding; all sequels fail to reboot a series properly.
That Mustang failed terribly at being a Jag; stupid Mustang.

Way to use a clickbait b.s. article. That really supports the validity of your opinion.

Fact: If TFA had gotten mostly awful reviews, and was considered by most as a failure, that article would have been titled "Admit It! The Force Awakens is great!"

You know it to be true.

The guy in this video seems to be honest and is telling his opinion:

Folks, what do you think is he right or wrong? (videos like this come up now from right and left)

Edit: I will be honest to you folks in the cinema during the screening of TFA I said to my wife that Rey is portrayed too perfect and she agreed.
It was done purpose no doubt, I hope VIII will normalize the charaterization. (all characters)
Rey - perfect and flawless in TFA = I wish she will be portrayed more like Luke and will show some flaws in VIII

Call it clickbait or whatever other adjective you like.

I'm confident, very confident, that by saying the TFA sucks, I'm on the right side of history.

Just like I was confident in saying TPM sucked back in '99.

Back then, myself and others took a lot of heat for making such an "outrageous" statement.

But we were vindicated in the end; history proved that the PT bashers were correct.

A similar fate awaits TFA gushers, who like their predecessors, will wind up consigned to the dustbin of history. :)

    Epic rant!

Yes, TFA is a feminist propaganda film.

That makes men look like pathetic numbskulls, and women as infalliable, all-knowing demigods.

Just one more reason upon many other reasons to hate this film.

That's why it's so awful in my opinion. I would have been an OK movie if Rey was written like a regular character. But no they had to go overboard inject feminism into star wars. I cringed at the scene where she didn't want Finn to hold her hand. That was the most unnecessary scene in all of cinema.

Great video this film isn't a star wars film. It's propaganda film with a star wars skin.

Later she object the blaster from Han Solo at first.
Another scene, to us that she does not need help from men.
Alright fine, but her way to object the blaster was portrayed arrogant.
To be honest she is nothing like Luke and a very unlikeable character. (I have problems to relate with her)

To everyone who says that Rey is the new Luke Skywalker:
His Aunt and Uncle got grilled at the Lars Homestead, he was lucky, because he was not there.
Luke got defended by Ben Kenobi in the cantina bar scene, he could have been killed.
Luke had problems shooting the TIE's in falcon escape scene.
Luke asked for help in the trash compactor scene.
Later in the tench run, Luke got saved by Han Solo and Chewbacca piloting the Millenium Falcon who came to help out.
He has flaws that is what makes him likeable and easy to relate to him.

Retrospectively the OT was all about teamwork and helping each other.

Rey was the best character. Best acting performance ever in a star wars movie. The new hero is a girl. Get over it.

Rey, Finn and Poe are basically Luke Skywalker split into three people.

Except Luke would've never gotten beat down by a lowly stormtrooper.

JJ really beta-maled the blast outta poor Finn.

I thought Ridleys performance was head over heals the best out of anyone else. John was a close second. Who are you saying was better? Harrison?

Harrisons performance was either due to two things....

    a. He doesn't care about star wars

    b. He is 73 years old.

Harrisons performance was lackluster at best. I will go with option B. because I really think he has grown to appreciate his role in star wars.

Mark was a 3 second shoot.

Who do you think carried the film?

I have nothing against a female lead/hero it's refreshing, but she should be portrayed more human and likeable in my opinion.
This topic is like hot iron and people like me who disagree with the mayjority/popular opinion will get heat.
Curiously enough I was able to enjoy the movie even with all of his flaws.

You said Daisy Ridley had the best performance ever in a star wars film. There's no way you can compare her performance to ian mcdiarmid and alec guinness.

Let me put it this way. I seen no flaws in her acting. I believed Rey was actually Rey. Not Daisey acting as Rey. With your comparison I felt the same with ian and alec.

But there was something special about her. If you didn't see it, I did. I know what I have seen. She is the best and time will prove it.

Rey is suppose to be fully capable and sort of like Star Wars' Leeloo character (5th Element) [I'm not suggesting they just copied Leeloo; I just meant that's an archetype that exists], because that is directly opposite of Luke; Luke sucked.

TFA follows the ANH/ESB plot line (mostly ANH), but does the components in opposite or reverse.
Poe, Finn, Rey; they are not splinters of Luke.
Poe is a reversal of Leia - the insider rebellion character with a droid who eventually needs rescuing from prison; except since she was a leader - this one isn't)
Finn is a reversal of Han - the turncoat fast-talker who was indifferent and just wanted to go along for personal gain; except Finn is a Stormtrooper rather than neutral.
Rey is anything but Luke - she's the anti-Luke if we're looking at ANH. She is capable while Luke was next to being luggage. Han was more of a hero in ANH than Luke. ANH is like watching Zoro and having Zoro piddling around with his sword practice while Bernardo saves the day mostly always and Zoro just shows up at the end of sword practice and...doesn't use his sword, but instead lights a fuse on some explosives he happened to find which blows the bad guys' buildings to pieces.

Rey is a female because Kylo is a male, and that's what this story is about this time around - opposites and reversals; yin-yangs, so to speak.
It's not about generational pairs or parallels this time around, so it's not between a Father and Son, or a Teacher and Pupil, but instead between two equals of the same generation who are both powerful but unrefined and need to grow.

This new series; in a sense, is following the phrase, "balance in the Force" literally as their motif, which seems to be foreshadowing that long awaited "balance to the force" that was long ago prophecied and never delivered when Obi Wan opened a can of worms known as Anakin unto the galaxy.

one example... when she says the force and closes her eyes. Then she reopens them when fighting Kylo....

But do you want to know her best acting scene? The very best that showed me she is the real deal?

When Fin was stepping on her head and she said, "get off.... get off!"

She really wanted him off lol. Perfect. Acting at its best. Her expression. Her hand movements. The way she said it.

    Get off... get off!

Yeah she is better than alec or ian imo.
