Lets all take a moment to appreciate how awesome the Lego Star Wars specials are. They are a tounge-in-cheek parody of Star Wars whilst still somehow staying true to the characters. As well as never being so vulgar with their humor that it makes it unwatchable.

I also love that hte writers apparently have open contempt for the prequel trilogy XD one of my favorite jokes being a padawan calling out Anakin for being a bad actor.

I'm so glad you started this thread - I was beginning to wonder if it was just me who watched and genuinely enjoyed these little mini-movies. They've made things easier for me to enjoy the SW universe with my kids. They both really started getting into it originally when they saw me beavering away at the games on my PS2 for ages, trying to collect all the golden bricks and get 100% on all the levels (which I never managed to do before my PS2 died, dammit! I may have to go ahead and get myself a PS4 and the PS3 versions so that I can rectify that. :D ) But yeah, it was really interesting to see what the writers were doing with the movies' storylines - it was like they had completely free rein over what they wanted to do with existing, pre-established characters, as long as younger kids could understand the plot and motives. I actually genuinely love them, especially how they incorporate the fact that everything's made out of little bricks and therefore can be deconstructed and reconstructed into more or less anything. Way too much fun. What did you think of Jek-14?

Jek is the ultimate in Mary-Sue parodies...

And then he trancends that, he is a character whose purpose is to show imagination and chosing your own way of thinking, and not being bogged down by the ideals of the past, or the ideals that your elders try to cram down your throat.

for example... I found it very interesting that while Yoda didnt approve of his choice to follow neither the lightside or Darkside, he eventually accepted his choices and maintained his friendship towards him.

    Very good character for children.

So they can get what sounds like Adam Driver to voice his character but they couldn't get Oscar Isaac?
Looks like good ol' fun nonetheless!

I'm watching the Droid Tales for for a bit of lighthearted fun on my day off... I also watched the first episode of The Resistance Rises.
The main thing that confuses me, though, is... Are these things canon?

If they are, there's a bit of a blip here. C3PO isn't meant to remember anything that happened in the prequels, is he? He recalls everything from the Clone Wars, and tells everyone that Vader is Luke and Leia's dad

No.... they are obviously not Canon, why would that confuse you... whhy would that even enter your mind. sure they follow the canon, but it is a one way street.

They also have their own continuity which started with "The padawan menace" that is very loose and not super strict.

As for threepios memory, in the first episode of Droid Tales ARtoo reveals he had been saving Threepios memory for all these years, and gives ihm the backup drive. Andt hat is why tHreepio is able to remember things.

Its like, the very first scene in the very first episode of Droid Tales.

It confused me because I read somewhere that in either an upcoming episode, or TFA video game, they're going to explain C3PO's red arm, and the explanation will be canon... So I couldn't quite work out what is canon and what is.

I must have missed that bit though. I was only half-watching it and eventually had to turn it off as my girlfriend kept asking me to look at something aha.

Don't think I'll really bother watching them now though. I like the games, and the physical sets, but I'm not really a fan of the shows... I just wanted to catch up on the new canon. (Which means I also have to watch Rebels and Clone wars too, which I've neglected!)

This might sound silly now, but The Padawan Menace. What is that? I'm assuming it's far from canon too?

There is literally nothing confusing about this, the LEgo Star Wars materials arent canon... bottom line. Even if an upcoming Lego Star Wars thing explains the Red ARm, it would still be non-canon.

(A one-shot comic special that is canon is going to explain his arm)

The PAdawan Menace was the first substantial movie they produced. which led too the Empire Strikes Out, which led too the Yoda Chronicles, which led to Droid Tales.

For various project during The OT the same thing was done with the main cast...speaking LEGO, I'm not into the new TC show as it makes no sense to even be produced, hopefully the Han Solo helmers are producing it .
