    It's more so that GOTG set a precedent for movies not to be taken seriously and it somehow worked as stupid as it looked visually (though the story was great) so they are seemingly applying colorful 80s sith to all phase 3 movies now...just because they have to set up IW doesn't mean they have to adhere to monetary standards

    Kylo I must admit, after several years of uninspired sequels I think the Transformers may have a winner here. What I especially like about the Transformers is the portrayal of the military has been very positive with Josh Duhamel's character (which I love) now promoted to Lt Colonel I see (he started as a Captain in the first movie)....

    Yes, I am pleased to see Duhamel's character return as well. I was disappointed in this movie at first. The whole "fight like a girl" trailer is what turned me off. But now, looks like it can be good.

    I agree with you there about the positive portrayal of our military in the Transformers franchise. Nothing like seeing our military kicking alien butts!

    OK so I am biased in that respect, in a PROUD way.....I retired as a Colonel in 2012 after 26 year US Air Force career.....love movies that portray military well!!

    Just want to clear up this whole GOTG thing. Thor Ragnarok's aesthetic has got nothing to do with GOTG, the only similarities are that they're both based in space and both comic book series had Jack Kirby as their author. Thor Ragnarok draws upon more Kirby material than Guardians. Everything from the architecture to the patterns, the Eternals to the Celestials is ripped straight from the pages themselves.

    Having cleared that up, I'm skeptical on this new Transformers film. While talented writers may have pitched the story, at the end of the day Michael Bay still has final say, and those kids seem to be heavily involved. The short clip they released did not have good acting from the children.

    I agree with you actually but I'm still going to watch it even if it wasn't worth my money because it's transformers
