SPECULATION Lightsaber Colors

Both, actually, are set during TCW. After she loses here red lightsabers to Bariss Offee, she builds a single yellow one. The top image is from the Star Wars Insider magazine short story, set before the novel, Dark Disciple (A Must Read!), and the second is from unfinished animation from the Dark Disciple TV Episodes before it was cancelled and adapted into a novel.

 

Yes, all Insider stories since Blade Squadron 1 are canon.

 

What I would like to see happen is yellow lightsabers become a common color for sith, like green is for jedi.

IT would match their crazy evil yellow eyes well I think

 

It should be in Sidious's possession. Pre Visla was killed by Maul, then Maul got his teeth handed to him by Palpatine. Theoretically, Darth Sidious had it last.

I'd love to see the Darksaber! Other than that, a gold-yellow lightsaber would be cool to see.

 

Personal y, I dont want million colors. Perhaps a White one for Phasma would be cool.

 

There should be transparent lightsabers.

How can you block what you can't see?

 

* How about ultraviolet? Not visible to human's color spectrum, perhaps other species. Would pose pros and cons to both the wielder and troublesome the enemy combatant.

* Leave purple alone. Mace is Mace is Mace. And only Mace is Mace! Unless he had a student or Kylo-esque post-mortem fanatic follower, I like that he was the only one able to deal with the uniqueness involved with a purple blade.

* New saber colors? Yes. New saber colors for the sake of new saber colors? No. Make it meaningful, or stick to the main color scheme (red vs blue/green) with few exceptions. Use sparingly if at all! We know of a red blade and Luke's old blade. We don't need....

* Rainbow blade! To celebrate the first openly gay force user in the theme of diversity that TFA is all about exhibiting! OK, not really (to the blade color, not a gay character)

I'll admit I am partial to neutral colors (black, white, grey even)

I would love if she have a Double blade saber but with blue crystals like Satele Shan

 

I must be in the minority but I want lightsabers of all hues. My favorite lightsaber color is the KOTOR 1 cyan from one of the patches. I also like some of the wonky colors from SWTOR; the yellow-core blue has grown on me over the years. I'm even okay with colors not being limited to which side you're on e.g. red isn't always evil and blue isn't always good*. Limiting colors, to me, really limits how expansive and awesome the world can be.

*Anakin made blue evil in RotS, but we all knew that was temporary.

 

They're not mood rings. The saber was constructed while utilizing the light side of the force.

I wouldn't say he 'made blue evil'.

It's about the maker at the time of construction.

Just like Grievous didn't 'make' any of the blue or green blades evil.







Of course if we are past the time of Jedi and Sith...

Still. Let's not spam sabers everywhere it sort of cheapens them.

 

I'd like to see a major character use a yellow and possibly teal colored one. I also like purple, white and the dark sabers.

 

If you play the video games you can make a good character have a red saber just because. I'd like to see more of that in the universe as a whole. Subverting tropes can be awesome if done right.

 

the ship that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan fly to the negotiations is red, Queen Amidala and her Handmaidens wear red, Obi-Wan's starfighters are red, R4-P17 is red, the Tantive has red trim, R5-D4 is red, etc.

 

Busting tropes for the sake of busting tropes? Meh

What's next, light side users spamming force lightning/choke/crush everywhere?



Kylo has a RED saber for a reason.
