Hasbro has announced that Lucasfilm has extended its licensing deal with them to continue making Star Wars toys, while also announcing its intention to start making toys for Indiana Jones.

It's an announcement that makes sense in both cases; Hasbro's line up of Star Wars toys has always proved popular over the years, and with a new Indiana Jones movie not too far around the corner, it seems sensible to start making toys as the franchise prepares to jump back into the limelight.

Indeed, the Indiana Jones line of toys will arrive in 2023, before the new movie debuts in theaters. Hasbro actually has a long history of making toys for the franchise -- they first made Indiana Jones toys for Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1982 and 1983 -- but this will be the first time Hasbro has made Indiana Jones toys since 2008, the year Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull was released.

Eric Nyman, Chief Consumer Officer at Hasbro, displayed his excitement at strengthening their relationship with Lucasfilm via the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises:

Stephanie Young, President of Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing, echoed Nyman's thoughts:

This is great news for fans of both Star Wars and Indiana Jones who are pleased with Hasbro's products, as the relationship has now been secured for the foreseeable future.
