Yeah, Lucas unmistakably flirts with the ‘Space Jesus’ idea. No doubt. But I think he was ultimately hitting more on the Macbeth concept of putting too much stock in premonitions - seeing in them what you want to and how that can ultimately lead you to ruin. Or maybe he just through it in for the hell of it. Who can say?

Fun fact: The ‘immaculate’ nature of the New Testament conception was due to him being created without the flaw of original sin, rather than the premise of ‘virgin birth’. OK, well, maybe not THAT ‘fun’ of a fact :)

I just thought on what you mentioned here in the last interview I read from Dave Filoni when he mentions Tolkien and the ring.

I can see the duel taking place with Maul and Kenobi, with no Luke anywhere. Doubt it would happen but I'd like the Ghost crew not to know who killed Maul...

I can't see it ending any other way than Obi-wan killing Maul. I mean, it's just one of those things. Like Hamilton and Burr.

It could be since he is still alive and they been searching for him. He can possibly be the one who knows how to deteat the darkside. I think Ezra's vision is clouded and Maul found out that Obi-Wan is alive. I would like to see Obi-Wan fight Maul in Rebels but I dont see that. in that trailer Ezra has a chance to kill Maul but im guessing he doesnt want to due to something with the Rebel crew. Its hard to see Obi Wan in rebels. Ahsoka seems more viable. I think they should end Rebels as a live-action movie. then I would like to see Obi-Wan vs Maul. Kanan vs Ezra and Kanan becoming a master Jedi and meet Yoda.

I actually think that Maul will end up switching more to the light side after his encounter with Kenobi. I think that It won't be enough at first for us to truly trust him but I think by the end of the season when he fights Darth Vader and dies protecting Ezra and Kanan he will die a hero. Or he will just go out in a blaze of glory fighting the mother of all bad ass's. Also provided Kenobi does have an episode in this season I feel that they have to bring Ashoka back for it. Let's face it she is not dead.

I'm with you on the last bit- Ahsoka's certainly alive.

I'm not sure we're gonna see our girl cross paths with Kenobi- though it's a very interesting notion... I wonder... she's already got that "hey buddy"–wave from Yoda, so I suppose he's keeping some sort of "force tabs" on her too...

**You ever change your mind, mid-typing?**

    I'm thinking maybe it'll fly!

Makes me consider what such a reunion would look like... Kenobi is kind of a cold fish, and Ahsoka is less moved by her emotions than she was... -but they share a heavy loss, and probably some regrets as well...

    Interesting.
Thanks for opening my mind to that perspective, SuperBenKenobi– you changed my mental "No Way" to a "Maybe".

Wait... what is this thread about again?;)

If Ahsoka and Obi-Wan crossed paths after the Clone Wars abruptly ended, then I believe that she did so before she fought Darth Vader on Malachor. The way that they've left her story suggests that she's transcended a physical existence and is now alive by some spiritual means. So when we see her again, it will be as some sort of otherworldly presence as opposed to a standard flesh-and-blood Jedi. (Think of what happened to Gandalf in The Lord Of The Rings, for instance.) A story about her just running about and doing whatever at this point seems to go contrary to what they had planned for her character arc.

Haha I do change thinking mid typing sometimes.

I think that one way that their reunion could feel is like this:
Obi-Wan was more cold for sure in his prime, but compared to the other Jedi he was a teddy bear. The loss of Anakin has shaken him and made him a broken man. He and Ashoka got close during the clone wars. She was like a little sister to Anakin and a daughter to Obi-Wan. Their reunion would be moment of you're alive followed by some snarky remarks toward one another. It wouldn't be external heart warming, but those who know the shared pain will balling at the inside jokes they make during the episode and the final farewell they plea. The Next time Obi-Wan enters the Frey will be his final time.

Do you suspect a "Mortis-arc/Daughter" –related storyline follow-up regarding Ahsoka?

There's no way that it isn't. They've all but said so in discussing the ambiguities of Ahsoka's fate. There's also this:

...And this convor seems to be Ahsoka's spirit animal, as seen in the final two episodes of Season 2.

I may've missed something– my impressions from everything I've seen and read have been that Tano will emerge from her underworld-esque experience drastically "changed", and (also like Gandalf), will appear again when she's most needed.

I get the feeling they're still playing around with how far the extent of "certain change" will take our "Schrodinger's Ahsoka"... –that there's been some reassembly and alteration to Filoni's plans for A.T.

If there's information you feel I may be lacking/missing- please pass it along! It's definitely a favoured topic of mine!

My impression is that Ahsoka's original arc involved her "going underground" at some point, but remaining spiritually connected to the Force in some way. Maybe she was originally intended to become a Force Spirit, or maybe she just went into hiding after confronting Darth Vader (something that would have to be addressed) - but she would not completely be gone, and at the same time, she wouldn't be able to directly influence events from the time of her disappearance until the time Anakin redeemed himself. It's been explained that Anakin showing up as a Force Spirit happened as a result of him having help from the other side since he did not learn the technique - and it's sounding a lot like that development would ultimately rest on Ahsoka showing her old master the way after forgiving him for his sins, thus bringing the character's story arc full circle while leaving an impact upon the story we've seen in the movies. Typically, that would have been the end of that. But since they've committed to a Sequel Trilogy, things have changed.

The general outline remains the same, but Ahsoka now has something she didn't have prior to the Disney purchase - a future. At the time that The Clone Wars was still being made, there still wasn't a guarantee that they'd be making an actual Sequel Trilogy so much as they'd be doing a ton of spin-offs even though George Lucas had plans to sell his company, and because of that, making any narrative set directly after Return Of The Jedi seemed like something that was not a given. But now there's an entirely new era that content creators have free rein over, and because of that, Ahsoka can effectively "live on" past the time frame that her story was originally supposed to end. So the short of it is that I don't think she's going to play a huge part on Rebels from here on out. We might hear from her again through some kind of communion through the Force to talk to Ezra or Kanan or something, but we're not going to see her make a valiant, swashbuckling return or anything like that. What I do think is going to happen is that she'll somehow play a part in the canon from Return Of The Jedi onward - and that's why Dave Filoni was insistent that there might still be a place for her in stories that they have yet to tell after previously referring to the Rebels Season 2 finale as the end to her story arc.

Obi-Wan will be called away from Tantooine which will be his chance to have his stand alone movie. During that time Maul will arrive with Ezra and Kanan not far behind. While searching for Obi-wan he'll be close to discovering Luke. Qui-Gon will direct Ezra and Kanan to Maul to confront him. Kanan is struck down and just before Maul kills Ezra, Ezra connects with a Sarlacc that eats Maul. Roll credits.
