If I remember correctly, in "solo", did not Lando kept a part of L3-37 aboard the Falcon ? I remember they plugged its head to the ship navicomputer.
Could be a moving scene when Lando retrieves his old droid pal aboard the Falcon.

One of the few reasons I will go see this film is to see Billy Dee back in action...I just hope they didn’t bring hm back to kill him off like they did Han and Luke.

I've been telling my friends for ages they've missed out on the opportunity to bring Lando back. He's such a great character most of the fan base has forgiven him for selling out the rebels. It's great that J.J's decided to reincorporate him. He's a lot of fun to watch on screen.

If Disney+ could do a Lando series involving both Billy Dee and Donald Glover that'd be grand. Maybe have Billy Dee reminisce about his past adventures in a cantina and then flashback to the Donald Glover version of Lando doing said adventure.

I'd love to see Lando end up with the Falcon at the end of the film with Chewbacca becoming his new co-pilot/partner in crime.

I briefly met BDW at Comic Con prior to TLJ... While I agree 100% Lando is a great SW character and shouldve been in the previous 2 sequels, the actor himself though come across as a real ***hole.

I remember walking away thinking I wouldn't care if he wasn't in EP9 either...

    Cheers, KH

I just saw this, but I have to say, I had a similar experience meeting him at Celebration. When I got his autograph, he said nothing to me. I got a smile and a “thank you,” and that was it. I could’ve taken that as just him being quiet, no big deal. But then when I got my photo op with him, I was told not to look at him or talk to him. (I got my photo taken with Ray Park that day, too, and it was completely different — he wanted to take the time to talk to each person and interact with them as much as he could.) I was a bit disappointed. I don’t know if Billy is just quiet or not, but it seems to depend on the day. Some people have had wonderful experiences meeting him and others haven’t. I try to take into account that he’s 82 now and conventions probably wear him out quite a bit. But regardless, it’s disappointing because Mark or Carrie would never come across that cold to a fan.

I’m still excited to see Lando in The Rise of Skywalker. He hasn’t been mentioned at all in the previous two films, so it’ll be nice to see him back in action. That being said, I really hope they aren’t using his comeback as some sort of compensation for Leia not being able to fulfill her initial role as the “legacy star” of this film. I still very much hope they’re able to make this film “Leia’s film” as much as it was intended to be. Lando’s a fine character and all, but he was never one of the most important characters in the saga. As excited as I am to see him return, I hope there’s more of a focus on Leia, Chewie and the droids.

Samual L. Jackson said it the best, What do you mean make America great again? Actor's like BDW and SLJ had different experiences than Mark and Carrie. All actors go through hard times but you can't be naive about what those 2 actors (BDW & SLJ) had to endure. I'm not gonna get political about it... I'll just leave it like that.

I’m not disputing that Mark and Carrie had different experiences from actors like Billy Dee Williams and Samuel L. Jackson as people. I’m not sure what you’re insinuating here, but that has nothing to do with the way any of them treat their fans. Unless a fan gives an actor a reason to be a jerk, there’s no excuse for them being rude. It’s no different than if they were a “normal” person.

I just feel like, for the amount of money I spent to meet Billy Dee Williams, it would’ve been nice if he could’ve at least acted like he wanted to be there. I understand those autograph/photo op sessions can be exhausting for the actors, but it’s just a little disheartening for someone like me who’s grown up with these people and always looked up to them, and then to meet one of them and get the impression they’d rather be anywhere else in the world than talking to you. He couldn’t even give me a “hello” when I greeted him. He just looked at me. That’s what bothers me.

I'm not gonna get political, but I'm 100% sure without a reasonable doubt you know exactly what I'm talking about...

However, you are right, it would've been nice if he acted like he wanted to be there...

I met a Star Wars actor at a Big Apple Comic convention in New York City, I brought my trade paperback of his character to the con, because I knew he would be there to sign autographs, he acted kind of like an A--hole, he signed my book, and acted like he didn't want to talk to me or be bothered( there wasn't a long line of people waiting to get his autograph. It was a pretty small con so we could have chatted for a bit, but I could see he didn't want to be bothered). I paid him for the autograph($10), and walked away, so I can relate to what you are saying. I won't mention his name because he has passed on, I think that would be in poor taste.

The actress who played Rystall, one of Jabba's dancers was there as well. She signed my figure card and was very delightful, so it was kind of strange, the actor I looked forward to meeting was a disappointment, but the one that was a background character was very gratifying.

I expect Lando to have maybe 5-10 minutes of screentime at best.
Mostly sitting (in the falcon.), because Billy aint that fit anymore.

Yes, I know what you’re talking about. I’m just not sure what fan experiences with actors like Billy Dee have to do with his experience as an actor and a person. Those are two completely different things.

Anyway, if the actor you’re talking about is who I think it is, I’ve heard mixed responses to meeting him as well. Again, assuming it’s the same person I think it is, I also met this actor and had a pretty good experience. I was a kid at the time and my parents were with me, and they thought he was a little quirky, so it’s possible it just went right over my head. (He also played one of my absolute favorite characters, so again, it could’ve just been me being in denial about it.) But regardless, I had met Jeremy Bulloch the same day and he was WAY more personable and even left his booth to take a picture with me for free. So, again, very different experiences.

I don’t know. At the end of the day, I really think it just depends on the actor. They all have good days and bad days, some have just been documented, I guess, more than others. But it still makes it disappointing when you meet someone you admire and they’re not everything you expect.

I can’t see him having a huge role in the film like Han in The Force Awakens or Luke in The Last Jedi, but Billy also did a fair amount of training for the film, so I don’t know what the point of that would be if he was just going to sit in the Falcon the entire time.
