I would like to see him in again in another SW movie but I don't think it will happen. I just hate how they used a big name actor for a such small role and maybe couple mins of screen time. Felt like it was a wasted opportunity.

His role in Skyrim was much larger, though he nearly drove me insane sometimes...

Even if not on screen... we all know this reverent and beloved actor is aged and have probably better things to do... and... well... he was killed in TFA.
    But, not even mentioned?

We'll have pieces from the whole puzzle gap between Luke being the hero from ROTJ and the hermit he became in TLJ and with his location being on a map in the possession of.... *drums... MVS's character in TFA.

He's relevant in the overall story:

    - Knows Luke and Leia well.
    - Knows Ben Solo well.
    - He's on the same planet where Rey was left behind, and both relate to the Force and to Luke Skywalker in a way or another.
    - He has a piece of a map that matches R2D2's.

There's so much non sense in TFA, that I just hope the upcoming installments are going to put some light. If LST is not appearing in TLJ or IX, then JJ really didn't know what he was doing at all. I know Ryan was free to write whatever he wanted and that nothing was written after TFA, but I want to think that he had conversations with Abrams about the future of the trilogy. If Ryan asks his actors about their character backgrounds, I am sure he does with JJ and Kasdan.

Lorr san Tekka will be probabaly mentioned and important character in the material that will describe 23 years hole in the story line between The Aftermath and Bloodline.(people needed many parsecs to find there is 23 years hole in the story line). It will probably be a novel, but cartoon or even a film is not out of reach of imagination to me.
Maybe in upcoming Legends of Luke Skywalker.

Not only did San Tekka help Leia recover the map to Luke Skywalker, but he also earlier helped Luke Skywalker recover some old Jedi lore, possibly old holocrons that had been hidden by the Empire. To me, this is really interesting because it is said that Luke went to find the first Jedi Temple, presumably the structures built on Skellig Michael that are seen at the end of TFA, and presumably San Tekka helped Luke find these temples. What sort of other secrets did he help uncover? Hopefully we will see more of them in Episode VIII.

Clearly there is a deep connection between Lor San Tekka and the Skywalker/Solo family. He seems to know that Kylo Ren was once Ben Solo when he says “Something far worse has happened to you.”, and Kylo says “You know what I’ve come for”, suggsting Kylo has a past with him. In the novelization, Kylo also calls him a soldier of fortune.”

BTW from Visual Encyclopedia relesed in april 2017, a resourceful reader can extract very intriguing details , some would believe do not exist.

Luke gave the map of his Journey to Lorr San Tekka.

Just saw this myself. I'm glad his role was a bit more important than we thought, but it's a shame he didn't live long enough, or at all, to tell more.

It also contradicts a bit with what's said in TFA.

My belief is that Luke found its destination(Ahch-To)before fall of his Jedi. After fall of Ben happened, Luke stored something in R2D2(secret code) and than visited Lorr to give him a map of his journey.Than Luke returned to Ahch To,to study its mysteries.
