    This is a brief theory:

What if that ranom boy we see who uses the force is actually Snoke? Bear with me here. Snoke is extremely powerful and i bet he would have sensed Ben and Rey going to take him down to whatever degree. People in general like to think that Snoke could potentially be Plageuis even though he is a new character. What if Snoke has the ability to transfer his consciousness? It is his contingency plan. Instead of how Jedi become "one with the force," darkside/sith" might have the ability to transfer into a new body using the force if they are strong enough, sort of like the GFFA equivalent of reincarnation, because the dark side cannot become force ghosts because of their selfishness. Snoke as we know him might be dead, but he could still be alive.

I don't think so. It would be Rey Solo, just totally WTF. The boy gave no indication he was evil possessed as well.

Why would he? He just died. He needs to lay low and destroy Ben.
Snoke is apparently supported by people on Canto Bight anyways, so that would be a natural spot.

Also, Rey already is a "Wtf" character out of the blue, as great as she is.

Man that would be crazy, A little too crazy for my liking but it's interesting.
For me though, it kind of damages the impact of that scene itself. Coming at the end of the film where there seems to be little to no hope, its a beautiful moment that reflects both the stories of the rebellion and Rey herself.

Also, not sure how this would work due to the proximity of Snokes ship and that Casino world the boy is on. Perhaps we could say he is the closest living force sensitive being, but even still it's all a little too out there for me.

It represents now only hope, but also hope for evil. Having smoke inhabit his body without him knowing would be cray cray. He must have been prepared and found the first boy to inhabit subconsciously similarly to Harry/Voldemort
