Thinking about this movie the other night and realised there seems to be some sort of mirroring, or opposites, happening with Leia where Rey is a part.

    1. Leia arrives on Takodana immediately after Rey has been taken away in Ren's shuttle.
Mirror Aspect: Leia arrives, Rey departs

    2. Leia requests Han to bring their son home yet a 19-year-old young woman shows up instead.
    Mirror Aspect: Son, daughter (?)

    3. Leia's ring.
Mirror Aspect: One half is a mirror of the other.

There is no Rey-Leia mirroring in the instances you mentioned.

    1. A character going somewhere right after another character has left is not mirroring, not unless they have the same purpose or if their actions have the same outcome. Rey went to Takodana to leave the droid, Leia went to get it. Rey ended up kidnapped by Kylo, Leia ended up going back to the base. If, let's say, Leia and Rey both went to Takodana to leave a droid (each), now THAT would have been mirroring.

    2. This IS mirroring, but it involves Rey and Kylo, not Rey and Leia. Leia asking for her son and getting Rey instead doesn't imply any similarity between the 2 characters. But Rey having Kylo's mother as her mother figure IS a similarity.

    3. That's symmetry, and again, there's no Leia-Rey mirroring there. Now if both Leia and Rey wore mysterious rings, that would have been mirroring.

Unless you meant that there's mirroring around Leia regardless of what characters are involved in the actual mirroring? Because that's true, but it also applies to all other characters in the movie.

Leia arriving the moment Rey has left is like the producers don't want them to see each other until the end.
