Wow a guy with 100,000 followers advertising free star wars content for nothing is doing harm to Lucasfilm. Lol. Fan's are giving RJ a hard time yet lets point fingers at a guy makes videos in his bedroom.

Give over the guy is harmlessly making money out of something he loves just like guys like Jason Ward. Why didn't RJ go after him? Nah he just went for the easy target and thought it fun.

Funny you mention Jason Ward, because he too went after poor defenceless Mike Zeroh.

Insinuating that all the people he's a fan about ( Hamill, Fisher, Ridley ) were mocking him during the shooting ...

I can bet my other hand that he made all this stuff and nobody ever talk about Mike Zeroh on a shooting studio because you have better things to do while filming than joking about fans and people like Fisher and Hamill always respected every fan.

Ward is one cocky fella AND I told him so when he used to post personally on here. Yet at the same time offered to buy him a pint. Plus in regards to the Zeroh bull, I have never defended him. I have called him liar also. If Zeroh was personally calling people out I wouldn't defend him either. The thing is he hasn't.

I cant even agree that he is a fan. He may be a huge fan, but I doubt a fan would just make #$@# up and then claim he has sources. He simply could be a guy who makes $ on throwing out rumors claiming they are substantiated by other sources. That is indeed harmful. Remember what RJ responded about was one of Zeroh's reports that RJ was fired. Zeroh's has made many a video stating that RJ,KK etc. have been fired or will be fired. That is harmful.

    About that...

This is such a strange conclusion. If they had time to talk about Twtter bots sending pleas not to kill General Hux, play table tennis, play Pokemon Go and do other things why wouldn't they have time to talk about a dude that keeps on making stuff up and claiming he got it from legitimate sources? And before you go and say that this proves the set for TLJ was ill-organised or something, let me direct you to the BTS materials for Lord of the Rings, where they talk about going out fishing, camping, partying and doing other entertaining stuff during the shoot. Also - there are hundreds, hundreds of people working on a set and a director has to talk to many more people than just cast members.

Also, it's probably time to talk about fandom and specifically fans. I see that a lot of people here believe that fandom for creators of an intelectual property should be something sacred and untouchable and while a community of fans is definitely appreciated overlooking the toxic elements of it has been proving to cause actual harm for nineteen years and counting. "But fan input brought back The Clone Wars!" True, it did, but it also drove Ahmed to the edge of a suicide, ended Jake Lloyd's acting career and was one of the contributing factors to his mental illness, drove Hsyden Christensen from acting for more than a decade, caused both Daisy Ridley and Trần Loan to be driven away from social media and definitely didn't make either George Lucas or Rian Johnson happier. Embracing fandom without any critical thought is to indirectly allow for abuse.

Now to why Mike Zeroh's imput is in fact derogatory. If you type in "Mike Zeroh" into YouTube searchbar you'll get tons of videos with titles like these:
    • Star Wars Episode 9 Leaked Details! HUGE Lightsaber Duel (PART 2)
    • Star Wars Episode 9 Obi Wan Kenobi's Return! Potential Spoilers & More
    • Star Wars Episode 9 Story Leak! NEW Details & More (Star Wars News)
    • Star Wars! JJ Abrams Retcon Rey's Parents In Episode 9! - Good Or Bad Idea
    • Star Wars! JJ Abrams Bringing Luke Back Alive In Episode 9 - Good Or Bad Idea!
    • Star Wars Disney Not Happy With Kathleen Kennedy! The Future & More
    • Star Wars! Kathleen Kennedy May Quit Very Soon! (Star Wars News)
    • Star Wars! Rian Johnson's Trilogy Is Cancelled!?! & More (Star Wars News)
We've been in this community long enough to know that he is lying. But do the people who watch him know this as well? If you read through the comments under his video - people take his "leaks" seriously. And you know what? Many of them won't lose faith in him. They will believe that someone behind the scenes made changes to the script because of his videos. But this isn't even the worst thing. Spreading fake news on actual people (yes, there is a person behind this Instagram and Twitter account) getting fired is... morally dubious at best (Also - can we get over a myth that a poorly-received film means that a director is going to lose a job on their next project? Bill Condon, Jon Favreau, Brad Bird - all of them released a big studio film that was poorly received, yet all off them got another studio film soon after, both of them in the same studio - Disney.)

Now, to the #tired part of this whole conversation - the tweets. I see that some people believe that creators have to only speak positively when talking about the fandom and as you might have noticed I don't share this mindset. So much of online fandom is just vile and I do not believe that responding positively to a guy who says "You've raped my childhood" directly in your feed would make such a person reconsider their behaviour. (another sidenote - don't use the word "rape" unless you're talking about a brutal act of sexual abuse. It's distasteful.) Also I have no respect for Zeroh. He's a liar and has no moral backbone. If he had one, he wouldn't tell lies to his audience and he would have more respect for the work of others and he wouldn't tell actual people lost their jobs when they didn't. Zeroh is also a moniker, not an actual surname. Because of all of this, I do not believe that there was something wrong with these tweets. Not only that, if they made someone change their mind regarding Zeroh and made someone stop his videos, I believe they've done more good than bad.

However, there are many who don't share my view and believe these tweets were innapropriate. All I can do is present my viewpoint. But you know who also agrees with that viewpoint? This guy:

As I have said time after time I don't support his lies, never have done, never will. But look at how many others like movie web, reddit even this place have speculated. Claiming sources, this was all going on before TLJ. Look what Conrad did to this place with his lies. Plus if Disney were so upset then why didn't they give Zeroh an immediate take down notice. Instead the director took to calling him out personally and no other. That's mean and cruel.

I think if you're going to make a movie, act in a movie or put yourself in such a public eye, you are inviting others to put your skill, talent, opinion, take on the story ect on trial by the public. Honestly, they get well compensated for the scrutiny. Anyone participating in something so public should expect it. That's not to say people should be harassing or threatening these people or that those actions are right... but at the same time, when you're at the pinnacle of the industry, you're pretty naïve if you don't expect it.

This is true in sport, religion, politics, anything, including movies. I'm not absolving the actions of the cretins, but I also don't have a heck of a lot of pity for those at the top. They get well compensated for the scrutiny, not just in money but in reputation and by opening doors to more lucrative endeavors by being in that spotlight. I personally feel the onus is more on the individual at the top to show the example instead of lowering themselves to the level of the cretins, at least in public. Show some class, take the high road, don't show your crazy.

Edit: Bottom line, imo, they should know this is coming and be prepared for it, by their loved ones, by the studio or the professionals around them. In the end, what nobody's say about them isn't going to hurt their careers, as they are judged far more by their peers then by public perception, unless their public perception is so bad that it costs the studio ticket sales. If it ever gets that bad, maybe they should look at their body of work, or how they reacted to the bad apples. In my experience, in almost all cases, its always best to take the high road.

Leave the venting and insulting for those you trust the most in the privacy of your home.

i dont get it, Hamill constantly throws shade at the movie (or at least Lukes arc), even before it was released, but at the same time praises it as the best SW movie since ESB back when the it was released.

So either he's an indecisive weirdo or received a call from some Lucasfilm/Disney PR guys that remembered him how much he was paid.

I wanted a movie that had elements of great storytelling in it. You can have those elements without being safe, predictable, formulaic and derivative.
Then go watch something different, this is a Star Wars forum.

Whomever does the "Mr. Plinkett" videos understands a great deal about filmmaking and storytelling. There is definitely satire in the presentation, but the underlying messages in those reviews are quite insightful.
    --- Double Post Merged, Sep 6, 2018 ---
Johnson has had a lot of classless responses to criticism of his movie.

Pretty ironic since the man's stated goal is to make movies that half the audience loves and half the audience hates.

He has some very good points in this video especially those about comedy and that it would have been another movie if it has stopped where he said in the video.

BTW, I laughed a lot a couple of times.

Let me ask you something... Why should people even care about RedLetterMedia anymore? Who doesn't know TLJ is such a disaster? They are as unoriginal and outdated as TFA is. Every plot holes and sins of the movie has been pointed out by other fans, and these guys are not brilliant about pointing out something other fans have not found yet. They are not pioneers, they are bandwagoners. If there was even a time they were once 'pioneers', the era has been ended when the TFA came out.

Speaking about the time before TFA came out, I still remember when all of their fanboys were making some kind of cult of so called 'Plinkett'. For the fanboys Plinkett's reviews were the absolute truth and anyone who liked prequels or disagreed with the reviews were having shitty tastes, or even 'fxxking stxxxd idxxts'(according to the reviews as well).

I do not want to argue that these guys are the cause of all problems SW franchise has now. I even doubt that they have such large influence. However, I still want to say that people like themselves and their fanboys are still a part of OT purists who have driven George out from SW. George was really far from perfect, but we all know where we are now after he has left.

...And that is why I hate them, and hope people do not pay much attention to them anymore. Thankfully I successfully skipped all advertisement when I watched their last review, so I did not pay them a single penny.

Nobody has damaged this franchise in the past year more than Rian Johnson. So maybe we should all spout venom and bile at him...?

The only thing Rian Johnson "damaged" is the fandom, which is visibly "broken" since 1997 (if not 1983). And maybe if the "fans" stopped spouting venom and bile all the time, this fandom might actually start fixing itself.

Somebody needs to create a meme with the scene in Thor Ragnorok where the Hulk beats up Thor in the arena. The Hulk would represent Star Wars fans and Thor is Rian Johnson. And a second part of the meme has Loki representing George Lucas saying, "That's how it feels!"

I would make it myself but I don't know how to create memes.

Could anyone have predicted that Leia would be off limits for episode 9, I do not blame them for this. And frankly, I would have made the same short sighted choice.

this is what I believe Colin's version of episode 9 would have likely been like.

Lukes lightsaber was missing....something that seems like a strategic choice Suggested by Colin treverrow(Colin wanted Rian to change ONE thing about TLJ, And i am convinced that Replacing the green lightsaber with ANAKIN'S was that change). When one looks at it...Snoke's identity is not nearly as much as a box office draw as LEIA BECOMES A JEDI. In fact, the plot for this is one that simply writes itself with the following plot points(hinted at by Colin and the novel Bloodlines and even Mark hamill).

    1. Luke skywalker as a powerful force ghost(Mark really loves his role in this version of episode 9) with his relationship with his sister at the heart of it all as he trains her as a jedi, this coming from some off hand comment about lucas's notes being that this happened at episode 9.

    2. Leia never forgave Vader for being a sith lord....or at least was at the beginning of doing so. This could provide a character arc in which Leia must learn to forgive both her father for his wrong doings. And maybe in the middle of her training she discovers that Luke tried to kill her son and thus caused the death of Han. This would be a shock because she always looked up to her brother. This leads to a chain of events that leads to Leia becoming grandmaster of the jedi order as she confronts and saves her son and makes peace with both her father and brother(becoming the chosen one).

this would have allowed episode 9 to break box office records without the mystery boxes.

This would have made Leia into the "protagonist" of episode 9 and relegated rey and everyone else not named kylo, anakin, and luke to the sidelines(remember that Colin makes gimmick storylines, Jurassic world had poor characters but a great premise).

and when carrie died, Colin realized that these characters(rey finn and poe) weren't strong enough to carry their own story and bounced.

frankly i do not blame him for this decision....Rey, finn and poe are so boring that I will actively avoid a film that stars them exclusively without kylo and lando.

Guys, I have always said if I am wrong I would appolgise and this is me now an appolgist. Am posting this here because this was the first place I approached the subject.

I just watched a Mike Zeroh video about Kathleen Kennedy. You guys know I hate TLJ but this isn't the place to air these views. Mike went down in my estimation today. I thought he was really rude about KK especially her age. He should not be going around telling people when they 'should' retire. She'll retire when she's ready. She shouldn't appolgise for for making social justice messages. Nor should he be going around saying KK should not be involved with creative team and decisions taken out of her hands. She's the president and the decisions stop with her. She's not going to stop making desicions because of her last two films or because she's too old. That video was full of bs and nasty. I feel a bit betrayed because I stuck up for him and he produced that video. Below the belt Mike. You shouldn't be doing that and spreading lies.
