hqdefault.jpg Snoke is definitely Tarkin. He survived the death star explosion. He started believing in Vader's ancient religion and the dark side kept him alive.

    Yep Tarkin is Snoke confirmed.

We've only seen Snoke as a hologram right? Who do we know who can project holograms? and who has been conveniently and inexplicably out of the picture for many years? Yes... you read it here first!!! Snoke2D2 anyone?

Also, I'm not sure how many of you read the second Aftermath novel, but there are some pretty serious signs pointing to Jakku being a place of significance in the Force.

Palpatine was very interested in Jakku and recruited a young boy there, who ends up being an Imperial heavy hitter in this book, who in my opinion, is the biggest hint we've seen to someone being Snoke. There's also the Acolytes who must have something to do with Snoke and this character. In this novel, they are roaming the streets of Coruscant.,

I hope you are not serious:

So, Tarkin, there is a weakness that could be exploited, would you like us to prepare your shuttle to evacuate?

Then, literally right before the Death Star blows up we see this chap:

    Literally.... right. before. Watch:

Unless Tarkin was Force sensitive and had the instantaneous power to teleport just prior to incineration, Snoke is not Tarkin. Having said that... the resemblance is uncanny!

Oh gosh really, I doubt he's Tarkin because he showed no force sensitivity during TCW of ANH, there would have been nothing left of him to exist, he could have listened to the officer's exit order but didn't, this could have happened,

If someone asked Pablo in 1979, is "Anakin Skywalker dead?", what do you think his answer would be?
He only reveals that which is known. At the moment, the information says Plagueis is dead. And Snoke is Snoke. That might not be the truth.
Lucas only told about 4 or 5 people that Vader was in fact once Anakin Skywalker.

The likelihood is that Snoke is not and was not ever Darth Plagueis.
But only a Sith deals in absolutes...

I've said it a thousand times before:

Snoke not Plagueis = random, retconned villain.
Plagueis = creator of Vader, grandfather of Luke, former Master of Palpatine, cheater of death and other such powers.

    • Snoke looks like how Plagueis should look (if he survived).
    • Snoke appears to have the same desires and philosophies as Plagueis from the now, mysteriously, de-canonised novel.
    • Snoke has a vested interest in the Skywalkers.
    • Snoke watched the fall and rise of the Empire yet despite being a Dark Sider, remained in the shadows...
    • Snoke has the same "theme tune" as Plagueis.
    • Snoke is described as wise and having a great knowledge of the Dark Side - exactly how Plagueis is described.
    • James Luceno was told to "not mention the species of certain characters" in the canon Tarkin novel that mentions Plagueis himself.
    • Lucas insisted, for some reason, that Plagueis was "killed in his sleep" - a curious death for someone with huge Force abilities.

The list goes on and on. Only an outright onscreen revelation that Snoke is just in fact someone else will shut down this theory.

    so true... so so true.

people keep asking the guy questions, and no matter what he says... his answers are analysed to the Nth degree to pull something from them that will simply never be there.

He only ever confirms facts that are watchable or readable in current canon. he will not spoil future films or books.. end of.

Does this mean that at some point, we will be treated to a video of him burning in a lake of fire next to a volcano before he was re-built into what he is today? If so, that would certainly redeem his prequels and I would pay to see that... :D

... and then the Force awakened. ;)

I reckon now that Snoke will turn out to be Plagueis but here's the thing, I think Plagueis will turn out to be Sifo Dyas. Their names mean the same thing. Sifo means disease in Zulu and Dyas, though not spelt the same is phonetically the Spanish word for days "Dias". What is a plague but days of disease.

What if Sifo Dyas infiltrated the Jedi at the same time Palpatine infiltrated the Senate. It would make sense that the master would take on the more difficult task. When Palpatine said Plagueis was killed in his sleep perhaps he wasn't being literal and that he simply meant Plagueis wasn't paying enough attention. Could Snokes injured and seemingly burnt appearance be as a result of the crash Sifo Dyas was thought to have perished in?

If Snoke does turn out to be Plagueis then perhaps it'll be revealed that he created Rey, just as he did Anakin. In this scenario Rey will have a mother - with the best candidate being Leia - and no father. So Leia becomes pregnant by the influence of Snoke/Plagueis/Sifo Dyas, Han accuses her of infidelity, their marriage breaks up and Han leaves, going back to his former life. This badly affects their already volatile son who begins on a path to the Dark side which culminates in his murder of the new Jedi apprentices. At this point Leia fears for the life of her young daughter and sends her into hiding on Jakku under the watchful eye of Lor San Tekka.

So, Rey and Kylo Ren will be half siblings, just like Arthur and Morgan le Fay in Arthurian lore. Rey(meaning King) is equivalent to Arthur and Kylo Ren is Morgan. Rey, which probably also refers to the Egyptian sun god Re(who was also associated with a falcon) will be a Skywalker just like the sun.

well they did go out of their way to let us know that Snoke/Ren are not Sith.. so there is some potential in that thought.

i doubt it, as i think we will hear the term 'Darth' before the ST has finished.
I also personally think that we haven't even met all the bad guys yet.

would love to see the Rakata introduced though. how cool would that be!

Yeah, a "Darthless" Star Wars trilogy? Me no think so. That smells stink-a-whiff.

Vader ended the rule of two in ROTJ, it's confirmed that snoke and Kylo are not sith, Darth is a Sith title.

Thus a "darth-less" trilogy is very possible and very likely.

a darth-less trilogy is quite possible - absolutely.

'very likely' is speculation. we were told (not canon) that they are not Sith. that's a country mile away from them not being Sith, and there not being any Sith in the trilogy.

    in my opinion..
The Sith will return. whether that's in this trilogy or the next.. they'll be back. ;)

I actually think the whole reason for VII/VIII/IX is to bring the actual sith back in X/XI/XII
