Hello all. Daft Ada here. Been a fan since 1978. So, yes, I'm one of the old ones. I'm also father to a new generation of fans, both of whom like the six part saga and The Force Awakens.

I'm not a fan of the books or the spin-off films (I've not seen Rogue Leader and I've no plans on watching any of the forthcoming stand alone films) but I'm interested in seeing what happens with this new trilogy.

Aside from my love of Star Wars, I work in the music business and I write short stories and draw cartoons as a hobby. And I have a dog called Buddy.

Thanks, Addi Ras. I'm sure I'll see Rogue One (I can't believe I called it Rogue Leader!) when it comes out on Blu-ray.

    Hi there,
Today is the second time I`m visiting this forum, and decision to join you guys is reasonable - so many topics and discussions, opinions and reviews, facts and, of course, hope that all the fun with SW is yet to be.

I`m still new (comparing to some of you) SW adorer/fan/addict (since 2012) and I found a few references to Cantina on SWNN, which I`m following since the beginning of 2017. What can I say - pleasure to be a part!

    Cheers for everybody!

Hello to all!! I am a 52 yr old SW fanatic, grew up with SW and have been a lifelong fanatic. I have 3 boys ages 14, 13, and 9, who have shared my passion for SW. I try and explain to them what it was like being 13 yrs old in 1977 like me, and going to the theater being totally blown away by the original SW!!! They just cannot comprehend as we are up to 8 movies now, with TV series, books, games, LEGOS , models, etc etc etc.

I am a US Air Force veteran, retired in 2012 after a 26 yr career. I was aircraft maintenance and logistics officer, so of course all YAVIN 4 hangar scenes just get my juices flowing! I am now a US government civilian working in logistics in Oklahoma CIty, OK, USA.

Here are my thoughts on Rogue One, which really moved me, really really loved it!! Absolutely loved the worlds, characters, raw courage, backstory of an Imperial Officer (the first ever in SW) and of course the battle scenes. When I heard they were continuing the SW saga, before The Force Awakens, I was looking forward to new characters, new worlds, new challenges, etc......TFA , although an enjoyable movie, felt too familiar for me. In my opinion Gareth Edwards took risks in Rogue One that paid off tremendously. Loved the insight into the Rebellion and also the Empire. Also loved the "gritty" serious tone, and also, being a huge fan of war movies , I loved that this was the first "war movie" in the SW saga - reminded us it is Star WARS. No touchy feely stuff here, no Ewoks or Jar Jar, just the coming together of a team of rebels who made the ultimate sacrifice. The final scene in Rogue One, from the time that Vader says "prepare a boarding party" , through the end of the movie, is in my opinion one of the top 3 scenes in all the SW movies. I will never be able to read the 2nd paragraph of the opening crawl in A New Hope without tearing up....R1 showed the tremendous sacrifice to get those plans.

The Dehavilland Mosquito!! One of my most favorite of WWII.....known as the "wooden wonder" because of the extensive use of wood in construction. Those twin Merlin engines must have sounded awesome. In the SW universe I think the A-Wing would be a good Mosquito-equivalent.....very fast and hard hitting......

Yes a fantastic plane & so versatile Fighter/Bomber/Night Fighter/Recon & Evan a Carrier Version. As for a SW version is a bit difficult but the B Wing for fire power combined with the A Wing speed.

Welcome. You know Mr. Foils, one of my top five gripes about TFA was that nobody ever said your name. Two whole X-wing battles in one movie....and not a single mention of @Lock_S_Foils . Inexcusable! J.J.!!! Kasdan!!!

Hello everyone! I loved Star Wars ever since I first saw it at a drive-in when I was three. Fortunately, my beautiful wife and two lovely daughters love the Star Wars movies too. Star Wars inspired me at an early age to want to fly fighters and that is what I do.

For fun, I like to snowboard, surf, read, run, and travel. Both my daughters are Girl Scouts and I am the Daisy Scout Leader and the Outdoor Skills certified adult for their troop.

I won't be able to post that often due to a very busy schedule but I look forward to dropping in and contributing when I can.

Pong I was with an F-15C Sqdn - the 44th Vampire Bats at Kadena....love your story about Star Wars spacecraft spurring you to the Eagle! Ok now I have to ask the question, are you an X-wing or a Y-wing guy? Or TIE? I am a Y-wing fanatic!
