Hm... Weirdly definitive statement by Daisy. I mean, there obviously are no plans for her future appearances and I do think the character deserves a break after IX (if she survives, and if she doesn't - even more so, lol). I assume IX will bring some kind of closure, so I guess another Rey-centric film won't be something I'll be looking forward to in the foreseeable future.

On her side, she wants to show she has a big career in mind and doesn't want to be Rey forever. I understand all that. But why put it so bluntly when you're promoting the film? :p "Daisy Ridley done with plaing Rey after IX" is a rather unpleasant headline.

Btw. I like the cover. It's quite plain, but we haven't seen those shots of the characters yet, so there's some freshness.

For a moment I thought Kylo was holding a blue lightsaber. Luke's hand are also very symbolic: the dark (glove) and light.

This is something I said over and over and over in the last year...these peeps are done after this trilogy. There is no episode 10, 11, 12 with these guys. They have other careers.

We aren’t getting the further adventures of Rey and co.

And in a small way, that was used to back up Rey Random.

“They are going to phase out Skywalkers for a whole new generation of fans, and make a bunch more movies like Marvel. She’s Random!”

But that is now shown not be the case. That’s it. We get 8 and 8, and then a whole new trilogy from Johnson, set in another time.

The idea that she’s Leia’s or Luke’s daughter, to set right what went wrong and redeeem their mistakes and save her brother/cousin, especially in the light of this being Carries last film and an emotional moment with Rey at the end of TLJ, seems more likely now, knowing they are wrapping things up with this trilogy.

    Random chances - down 10%.
    Rey Solo/Skywalker chances - up 20%

Literally the other way round for me.

I've been saying for yonks that she won't be a Skywalker to enable that family TO END and for new stories to be told without their influence.
If Rey is a Skywalker and she lives then there will always be the question about her having kids and what happened to them.

If they're going to end the Skywalker story, then end it properly. Finish them all off.

I respectfully disagree, as the one thing I have learned about this franchise is never believe anything said about future movies. Lucas laughed at Leslie Stahl in 2005 when he was promoting ROTS on 60 minutes when she asked him when Episode 7,8,9 are coming out? His response was, "There was never an episode 7-9, as the story is 1-6 about Darth Vader." Now 10 years later, Lucas calls out Disney because they decided to go in another direction for the ST and not use his notes.

Now I agree that we wont get another Trilogy of Rey, but it wouldn't surprise me if she shows up in a future trilogy sort of like Luke and Obiwan to train the next one, or even make a cameo. They could still do standalone movies Finn, Poe, etc. Heck if they are going to make a Boba Fett movie, it wouldn't surprise me if they do one on Phasma in the future. There is too much money to be made on the SW train, so I never accept 'never' as an answer. The actors are saying that now because there is no reason to hype something that isn't happening, but nobody thought Han, Luke and Leia would ever see the light of day in another trilogy.

An actor saying "Never again" while actively promoting a movie in that series is usually their way of saying "Yes, if you pay me right."

Well, the OT ends with a Skywalker alive and well, and it was the definitive end (at the time).

And, the PT ends with a Skywalker alive and well, and it was the definitive end (at the time).

So, if the ST ends with a Skywalker/Solo alive and well, that’s not a big deal.

In other words, there not being any more Rey movies doesn’t mean she’s Random.

In fact, it seemed more like she would be Random, if they were planning another trilogy/series with the further adventures of Rey. Then you’d need a clean break from the legacy characters.

But since this will wrap her story up, and the Skywalker saga (per J.J.) also, I have to wonder - are they going to do that with dead Han, defeated failure Luke, weary Leia who now has to be written out, and murdering villain Kylo....?

Even if he is redeemed and helps our heroes in the very end, it’s still a pretty dark line to cross.

That alone makes me think they’ll want to send it out on a high note.

But that’s where our opinions differ, of course.

Whether the powers that be approach another trilogy in 10-15 years is one thing...but this crew isn’t coming back. She flatly said No, several times. She’s not being coy.

She has 4 movies in the can, plus a 5th she’s working on that aren’t SW projects.

Boyega is becoming his own star, being in several films already and the lead in Pacific Rim 2 next summer.

Driver has already been in several critically acclaimed pictures.

They brought SW back to life and we should be forever grateful, but that’s where it ends.

This lead me to believe that Luke would not like turn dark in this trilogy as it has been questioned.

Harrison Ford was done with Han Solo in 1983. Daniel Craig was done with playing James Bond. This is fun to talk about, but means very little.

That's like asking someone after 6 years of university if they want to do another 6 years lol. Don't be silly, poor girl needs a break. Good 10 years. They I'm sure she'll be open to receiving a truck load of cash for a return.

The ages of the characters at the moment in the ST:
    Chewbacca - 234
    Threepio - 66+
    Artoo - 66+
    *Han Solo - 63
    Luke Skywalker - 53
    Leia Organa - 53
    Poe Dameron - 32
    Ben Solo / Kylo Ren - 29
    Finn - 23
    Rey - 19

Also, is it just me or is Daisy hinting that Rey and Kylo have quite a bit of screentime together?

ALSO, John Campea said he knew a big plot point for TLJ and basically confirmed it had to do with Rey and Kylo when a twitter user on his show asked him if Rey and Kylo would team up and he said he couldn't talk about it
