Damn- I didn’t expect the confrontation to happen so quickly. I think it’ll deffo be round I - but still. Vader was more menacing here than in Rogue One. A total disregard for life, fuelled by hatred to try and draw out Obi-Wan.

So glad they used the AI for Vader’s voice. The timbre in JEJ’s voice had already been affected in Rogue One, this is the way.

Also - Space Trump fan racist taxi driver voiced by Zach Braff was what I needed

If you listen closely it's impossible to decipher her next word. Until we get an explanation in the next episodes, we won't know for sure.

Nevertheless, they didnt do a good job at resolving the issue. But we'll see what happens.

 

Well said, eeprom. There is nothing the least bit ambiguous about how Reva played this with Vader and her fellow Inquisitors.

The only question is whether the Grand inquisitor is dead or critically injuried lying in a coma in some bacta tank. If I were Reva, I would have wanted to make sure he was dead so he wouldn't be able to recover to snitch on me later. But however the show ends up playing this remains to be seen.

The audience is to led to believe the Grand Inquisitor died given that we witnessed Reva stab him through the gut with a lightsaber. However, the fact that 1) the script had Vader interrupt Reva before she could say if Obi-wan would pay for his death; and 2) the fact the same species of the GI (allbeit with a different look) is featured in Rebels; makes me think we might see some kind of plot twist down the road.

 

It would be hard for Reva to blame Kenobi for impaling the GI if the GI is still alive.

Now that we know Quinlan Vos is alive and kicking and smuggling younglings to safety, I wonder how many episodes into Mando Season 3 he'll show up in a flashback, saving Grogu?

But the fact a look-alike GI is alive later in the timeline in Rebels is the reason it's not definitive at this point.

 

Oh, sorry. I wasn't trying to insinuate that you were an expert, but saying there's a lot of YouTube videos pointing out "issues" hardly means anything. There's a market for pretty much every viewpoint on YouTube whether or not it's correct or not.

Now there are some reports that Lucasfilm is thinking about a 2nd season of Obi-Wan. So maybe they can draw this out further with Obi-Wan and the Inquisitors. I've liked this series, but I don't know about another season.

I hope this is the case and that Vader knew she was lying just so I can see him keep his promise to her. Treachery is the way of the Sith and the Imp-Inquisitors are not in the club. Plus, the OG death scene for the Grand Inquisitor is super legit as is and retconning that for some lame stabby trope betrayal is well, lame.

I have but one wish for Master Vos on film, that his character be portayed as he was originally intended by the Dark Horse team and NOT the "Force-Spicoli" surfer butt wad from the cartoons. Quinlan Vos is the Original Jedi With A Gun. The first Jedi to cast Force Lightning. Vos was a very different Jedi.... An uncle (in spirit) to Cade Skywalker. Vos was so uber, they also found a way to have him meet young Solo, AND before I really digress....

This is the way.

Vos could have used to his latent talents on Grogu's mind, to help him.

He is Kiffar after all.

Same here. It's been great thus far, don't overcook the meat Kenobi's been cutting.

 

My 1st impressions from one viewing late last night as I my plane was delayed way too many times(please add more flights airline industry):

Obi-Wan has lost his faith in people and himself. It has affected his connection with the Force. It is painful for me to watch.

I love the concept of the "The path" for escaping Force users. This is from one of the Legends novels though I can't remember which one where Leia and Han it set-up. They are either running from Vong, from Jacen Solo, or from Abeloth. This can lead us to so many other stories within Star Wars I hope.

Vader's scenes were awesome. Thank you Star Wars for getting a little more adult with this show. They seem to be using the movements of ANH and ESB Vader.

My only complaints: Vader should be appear taller (at least 6'6"). And a fire cannot stop Vader.

He was alive, is he still?

The Jedi symbol seemed to enrage Reva, I wonder what the connection was there.

I loved this episode on my first viewing.

 

Painful to watch in a delicious sort of way.

Ewan's acting thus far in this show is Emmy-worthy IMHO.

 

It was everything I had hoped for, brilliantly written, directed, improvised and portrayed.

He put it out with the force the first time, the Dark Lord allowed them to leave....

It's really the perfect in between.

PREDICTION: The Mentor's Journey will end with him seeing Qui Gon Jinn, one last time....

 

The more I watch this series, the more I'm forming an opinion that it might be the best Star Wars production from DisneyPlus. However, there are three episodes left. There is a good chance that the writers might screw this up in the end.

 

Three people are playing Vader. For the full frame shots Vader is played by a guy who actually is 6'7''.

Yes perhaps "painful" is the wrong word here. The portrayal of Obi-Wan has elicited strong emotions within me and yes they are delicious, like anchovies.

Agreed. Which leads me to the question of is this an instance of Sith feeding off of the pain and suffering of others and prolonging as long as he can to gain more power? I would think it would be a little more personal for Vader, maybe he's just bored and relishes the hunt.

 

Good point. Tala does say of Quinlan Vos, "He helps, now and again" in present tense, so she at least thinks he's still alive.
