They're trying so hard to hate Rey; at this point, it's actually kind of cute :)

I'm speaking collectively! argh. Not everything is completely about you. Your gripe with the "don't hold my hand scene," along with what I hope is just trolling on many other threads, could count as well. We can drop it, if you'd like :)

She has been having to look after herself with no help for 15 years. She is a loner. She has never had any friends or relationships. That's why.
BB8 tells her that Finn has Poe's jacket. She yells out to confront him and he runs. She is trying to help BB8 find his master.

I'm not going to say that you're wrong, but I think that's precisely the reason that a lot of people (or at least myself, and I lean towards Rey Skywalker) are concerned about her being Luke's daughter. Star Wars (well, fiction in general, but we're talking about Star Wars here), tends to play up the paternal side of things with the maternal seeming to be unimportant. In the OT, it's Vader that Owen and Beru worry Luke will turn out like, it's important that Vader is Luke's father because it's supposed to imply certain things about how Luke might turn out. And as you pointed out Padme (who remained unnamed even for over a decade) is seen as almost an after thought as far as his lineage, regardless as to how we later learn it's his mother that he takes after to a much greater degree.
Similarly even in TFA, Kylo is a strong Force User (a trait gained undoubtedly from his mother), but it's his relationship with his father that the narrative plays up as the important one.
Star Wars films are a lot about family, but (apart from Shmi) mothers haven't been very well represented in their relationships to their children, so -- to me -- it'd be disappointing if they just said "Rey is Luke's daughter, don't worry about who the mother is, she's not important."

Hm I see. In that case I agree. I just meant that given Star Wars track record, it's not hard to believe they would not reveal the mother at all. But yeah, it's more interesting if they do.

yeah, i'm done convincing people 99% of the movie goers and critics loved her, some did go far as say she is on par with the ones for the OT, so yeah let they hate, can't wait for what awaits for her in episode 8 and 9, or to see her again in TFA maybe 4 or 5 times more, i think see the movie more than 7 8 times is crazy?

    Right?

    Right guys?

On par? I've watched the Ray of light 7 times in theaters now and she's turning into my favorite Star Wars character. I love her so much that I fear Luke/Hamill might ruin ep VIII.

I'm with you man, the reason i don't put there yet, is because we have two movies to go and they can ruin the character yet.

If Star wars made of only two movies (to be fair in the comparison), A New Hope and The Force Awakens she would be my favorite Star Wars character ever, maybe tied with Han Solo

I want to see who believes this theory about Rey. I personally think she is the daughter of Han and Leia. Evidence to support this would be. She is strong with the force. Throughout the movie her and Han say the same things at the same time. When she sees Mazs castle she says she never seen so much green in the galaxy and Han gives her a guilty look. When she meets Leia they embrace like they've known each although they have never met. Kylo seems to have some sort of passion and sympathy for her and keeps her alive. Even in her vision you can see a Knight of Ren attempting to kill her and Ren kill him before he can do so. When reading her mind Kylo says "Han solo feel like the father figure you never had."
I believe that Rey was dropped at Jakku by han and Leia after Kylo turned evil. They did not want her to turn evil if she became a Jedi and/or wanted to protect her from Kylo. I think that the movie has too many scenes that seem to indicate she is familiar to different people but they scenes cut right before we here any dialogue. Just my theory wanted to see if any agree or have good counterarguments. And for those that say the visions she has tie directly to Lukes past, don't forget if she is Leias she still a skylwalker and that would explain the strong connection to the lightsaber.

He said that her heritage is already decided and they only have to reveal it over the course of the trilogy. Dasy also confirmed that she knows who her parents are.

So what your telling me is BB-8 is racist since the whole argument from BB-8 is speculative...athough raises the question why can Rey understand BB-8 and Chewie? I mean really they added every skill they could think of to make Rey awesome.

I'm in the theater right now to see it for the fourth time. I'm trying to pick up on things I've missed before. I will be on the lookout for more clues as to how Rey is already known.

That's not a coincidence that her name is spelled the same way a kid would read that Raeh, i'm 100% convinced Rey isn't her real name or at least wasn't, maybe she go by Rey the entire trilogy because people already are used to the name and the Character but that Kira Rey thing is gaining more and more traction.

Cause she lived on a planet with a lot of different languages and droids, being multilingual is an asset in a diverse environment.

The droid isn't racist... Nothing about Finn's race is taken into account at all in the story. It isn't even mentioned in the novelization. The droid saw Poe Dameron's jacket, after having just lost him to the First Order.

Rey can understand droid binary, Wookiee, & probably tons of other languages from her time on Jakku, a hotbead of intergalactic traffic for smuggler's & thieves. Much how Han Solo can understand Wookiees, Luke can understand binary, & Anakin spoke 5 languages when he was 8.

I think it's pretty in your face who Rey's father is by the end. I don't think they are going to pull something crazy -- the mother may be where that component lay.
Watch how Chewie looks at her in the Falcon just upon landing to see Luke. It's kind of like = "youre gonna see your dad, hehe." I absolutely and 110% think Han, Leia and Chewie (maybe Kylo) knew or figured out who she was by the end
This is what I love about this movie - the lore and mystery is getting interesting again keeping us guessing.
