    So, Oscar Isaac and JJ just revealed in GQ that Poe Dameron was supposed to die early on in the film! This kind of explains why he disappears for the whole second act... he wasn't supposed to be in it!

    I'm assuming he was supposed to die in the TIE crash, his function being to retrieve the info on Luke, help Finn escape, name Finn... and have Finn carry on his legacy (even taking his jacket). Quite symbolic, one Resistance fighter dying and being replaced by a First Order defector.

    But I'm very glad they let him live!

    I actually thought that this lighthearted moment inside of what I thought should have been a very dark, tense moment, didn't fit very well.
