He also looks like concepts I've seen for Darth Maul I think. The Hammer-headesque helmet I remember distinctly. It was black of course.

The head pirate I'd think. That's clearly a band of space pirates. Some bounty hunters may be mixed in there too.

So, I think it would be nice to recap in this thread a little.

First up, lets look at the environment.
The scene King3000 initially described was shot on one of Pinewood's outdoor lots.
We can easily place the Jakku village set to the North Lot from the position of the X-Wing in the Force For Change video. The fact that bluescreen work was needed for the scene described by King suggests to me it was filmed on the Paddock Lot, where it appears (although I'm not 100% sure) a huge screen is a permanent fixture. I'm sure there is the option to erect bluescreen wherever necessary outside Pinewood, but we know the Paddock Lot was used for Episode VII, and I think it matches what we see in the Vanity Fair video.



The exteriors were described as "slabbed floors and grass". I think we can now pretty confidently tie the Pinewood set in with what was filmed at Puzzlewood in October. There is some serious damage caused to the exterior, there is a First Order drop ship outside (is this what was described to King as a "cockpit" - they are pretty simple-looking things?) Phasma is there and troops are there.


The interior, as described to King, was deemed to be a cantina or pub where Lupita's character may have been a bartender. The description left enough doubt for King to even consider it may be set onboard a vessel of some kind. We now know it is being described as a castle, although it is easy to see why, with such a collection of freaks, it may have been easy to presume this was a cantina in the Star Wars tradition...


I suppose the key things are that the black, OT-style trooper with Aurebesh across the helmet is there, there is a big guy who looks like he may require a few puppeteers to operate, and another guy who looks vaguely like the Baragwin character described to King, seen chopping up "rats" as some kind of "butcher".
There are also a few short characters there - King suggested Warwick Davis (as some kind of musician) and Deep Roy were involved in the shoot and Kenny Baker was on set. Whether they are any of the characters in this photo remains to be seen, I guess.


So, speculation time on my part.
It seems pretty clear the "massive event" which causes commotion and draws everyone outside is likely to be an attack on the castle itself led by Phasma. MSW suggests Kylo Ren takes Rey here - I think it is more likely Phasma is acting as Ren's right hand in these scenes. The "catapult" weapon is used on the castle, troops land, led by Phasma, and survey the damage, and Rey is eventually captured and taken to Kylo Ren. Just my opinion of how it would play out, of course.

What is not so clear is Han's involvement. Is this evidence of a few tweaks being made to accomodate his injury? King says the the bulk of the interiors were shot before Solo's return, while he was featured more heavily in the exteriors, shot after his return.
Again, just my speculation (we were originally speculating this scene took place near the start of the movie shortly after Finn and Rey had met and before they left the desert planet) but it seems likely to me Han, Chewie, Finn, Rey and BB-8 all arrive at this location in the second act. Yet it seems everyone except Han enters the pirate castle at the same time. Does he have a small errand to run on this world first? Are our heroes made welcome on this planet Han hangs behind chatting with their hosts for a short while as the rest of the group enter the castle? Or does he just "stay with the ship" initially?

Either way, as a quick recap of this thread, King is basically describing it going down like this (paraphrasing, of course):
Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Chewie enter. Rey is confronted by an alien (Simon Pegg) and draws her blaster. The alien snatches the blaster, saying: "don't point a blaster at someone if you are not going to use it." Chewie, with his injured arm strapped up, squares up to the alien. The alien quips: "what good is a one-armed Wookiee." Chewie proceeds to tear off the arm and hands the blaster back to Rey.

When Han enters, Maz Kanata is portrayed as the authority figure among the pirates. She recognises Solo and announces: "Han Solo!" (at which point everyone is silenced and turns to look at the character who just entered, in true western style) "you have 25 bounties on your head!"

At some point Maz takes our heroes aside to a table and gives them a little force display, levitating bowls.

After the massive event of destruction, Han is seen cutting through the crowd, as everyone rushes outside to see what is going on.

At some point Finn says the lines "that was when I met you" and "I didn't want to fight".



It would be interesting to hear some feedback from @King3000 on what order he now believes the sequences he was told about take place. Because it seems more likely to me, the "Han cutting through the crowd" stuff would come after everyone has met Maz and the attack is under way, rather than on his way to the castle. Have our heroes been scattered by this point, and have Rey and Finn already had their "vision" with Maz?

Lots to think about... but things are becoming slightly clearer (IMHO, of course)

Cool - I knew I'd seen more of this, didn't think to check that video.

 

I dont think there is much more! I was trying to see if the costume of the force for change contest matches any of the creatures but it doesn't. But I'm sure he will be one of them, he was there the day they were shooting.
Other than that I spotted Ford's double and also chewie in one of the monitors.
