I'm sure that someone will agree with me that Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul should have seen more mileage in the prequel movies than they did. While they did come to better use than, say, Aurra Sing in the same movie era and Captain Phasma much later in the sequel movies, we have to depend on revisitations in later works in order to get more of the immense potential of those characters.

Personally I think that the story arc of the prequel movies should have been somewhat more drawn out in regards to Jinn and Maul. Admittedly I haven't thought out what I would do differently to accommodate that.

The Clone Wars animated series ameliorates that somewhat with Maul coming back altered, and we finally see Jinn as a Force Ghost later on and in flashbacks, but to be frank with you all, I wanted to see more of Ray Park wielding that double-saber and Liam Neeson doing his thing as well. Especially in the case of Liam Neeson, the actor put a great investment into his character and made it live, whatever people say about the prequels, which have aged much better than I had ever thought they would.

Darth Maul was simply acting as Sidious' enforcer and nothing more. I don't see how he and Qui-Gon required a stronger connection. To be honest, I never regarded Maul as nothing more than an enforcer or a literary tool used to continue Anakin's arc with Obi-Wan and the Jedi. Which is probably why I never really liked his resurrection in "The Clone Wars".

I hated Maul's resurrection. It underminded Obi Wan's triumph and I wish the writer(s) would have just kept it moving in stead of trying to resurrect a dead Maul like they resurrected a dead Palpatine. Bantha poo doo.

It was just silly and pointless. Maul was a very cool character and I was shocked that he was killed so quickly. But he was cut in half. How much more of a definitive kill could we get? I just never saw any reason he was brought back. He didn't do anything that a new mysterious Dark Side user ( like Malicos in Fallen Order) could have done with the whole corruption of Ezra and the Mandalorian arcs. Then just to have Obi-Wan re-kill him again?
