That would be nice, however Garm may be one of the victims of the Canon wipe. Time will tell of course.

I watched this episode again with my daughters and enjoyed it so much more the second time. I enjoyed it the first time, but now I might rank this in my top 5 episodes...

Garm was in the ROTS novelization, and thus is technically canon. I say "technically" because they don't have to use him in the formation of the rebel alliance. He might just be a random corellian senator in the prequal era.

The only novelizations of films that are canon are the ones for films from the Disney era, meaning TFA and Rogue One.

Correct, while the RotS novelization is still excellent and more enjoyable than the film IMO, it is sadly no longer considered to be part of the Canon. Fingers crossed for the recanonization of Garm and other cool EU characters though.

Since when? Del ray tweeted to Kyle Newman that they are canon http://www.theforce.net/story/front/Yes_The_Star_Wars_Movie_Novelizations_Are_Canon_157749.asp

Here is an old pablo tweet saying they are canon except where they contradict the films.

these are kinda old tweets. Did they change their minds at some point?

edit: for some reason, I can't link the send tweet directly, but if you click on the box and scroll down a few, you'll see pablo's reply.

The tweet itself says it all. They are Canon where they line up with what is seen in the films. Extra stuff, much of which is tied to EU stories that are no longer Canon, doesn't really line up with that. In fact, it also has contradictions with TCW.

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_III:_Revenge_of_the_Sith_(novel)

Scroll to the bottom of the linked page for details. Basically, only what matches up with what is shown on screen is considered Canon. Any extras like mentions of Garm definitely wouldn't be considered part of the Canon at the moment. That doesn't mean we won't see him some day, but a reference in a novelization from the EU days doesn't qualify as confirmation that he exists in current continuity.

Pablo says in reply to that last post I tweeted.

This sounds like only the contradictions are non-canon.

Eh, that's still vague and hardly a concrete answer on that front. The fact is the novelizations openly refer to non-Canon books. If you want a better answer I suggest straight up asking Pablo if Garm is Canon. Additionally, Wookieepedia also lists Garm as a purely Legends character at this point.

Could the female pilot Gold 2 possibly be Norra Wexley from Star Wars Aftermath? She did fly a Y-wing. Just wondering.....

The last few episodes have been great, high hopes for the finale.

    Question, though-
Maybe I missed something, but how did the Rebel ships know where to head to at the end of the episode, but the Empire didn't immediately converge on their location, finishing off the Rebellion at its very official conception?
