Thet was more or less discussed in the episode during the showdown. Win or lose you lose. If the Rebels attach the Protectors even if they win that only causes the Empire to show up. Even in the real world when pilots get shot down you don't go to war. Just think how many commercial airliners have been shot down what was the response. Go to war only more people will die.

In the end they still blew up the Mandalorian ships, they should have just done that after the Mandalorians killed the rebel pilots and not even tried to work out a deal. The Mandalorians don't want the Empire to show up so they wouldn't have said anything. Kanan's old school jedi teachings has made him soft and i wouldn't be surprised if it comes back to bite him in the end.

You are missing the point: they still need to pass through the system. They don't have any other available routes for the fleet to pass through.

Then they should give up on that part of the system, its too dangerous to trust that the Mandalorians at some point won't rat them out or the Empire's spies wouldn't catch on at some point.

Again, the issue being they have no other options at this point. I am unsure as to why this concept is hard for you to grasp. You can't just hyperspace your way anywhere you want in the galaxy. This system, again which was made clear in the episode, is impassible. They also made it quite clear that the Mandos do not want the Empire in their system. It is an uneasy alliance from the interaction we saw: Mandos agree to give information and "work for the Empire" in exchange for the Empire staying out and allowing the Mandos to self-govern without an Imperial presence in the system. If the Mandos rat out the Rebels (and, given what we know about this culture, I highly doubt they are going to go against their Mandalore's word) they will surely be breaking their deal with the Empire and: BOOM hello permanent Star Destroyer or two stationed in the system as well as a possible Imperial Governor being put in place. The Mandos don't want anything to do with the Empire, but they were probably forced into this "alliance" with little choice.

This system is obviously a "crossroads" on the Hyperspace lanes (hence the Empire's interest in it). They have no choice but to go through it. Why remains to be seen, but that is what was set up.

I undersatnd the intricacies of hyperspace in the Star Wars universe so you can't stop implying that i don't. What i'm saying is that they need to leave that sector of the galaxy all together,"We need a new hyper space route in and out of the Lothal sector"-Commander Sato. They're still in the Lothal sector beacuse of show budget reasons. Forced alliances will usually turn up sour at some point and its best to not even deal with it, "Right now we are only friends because we have to be" - Fenn Rau. Even then it wasn't said in that episode that it was the "only" choice that they had it was just the first thing someone came up with, it being the only choice is something you inferred which is subjective not objective. The main thing seemed to be they wanted to sway the Mandalorians to take an active role against the Empire, "If we get permission to fly through their space the next step could be recruitment"- Hera.

If the rebels only dealt with people they completely trust there wouldn't be a rebellion. They take the risk of cutting deals with Mercs and smugglers so they can fight the empire. They need alternative hyperspace lanes and the Protectors have them so while they have this stalemate of sorts they will use those lanes. You reversed their priorities you had it right in the quote first get fly through permission and then recruitment not the other way around.

I never reversed their priorities, the Rebels overall main goal is to get more people to fight and defeat the Empire. After they found out about the Mandalorians the hyperspace lane became a stepping stone for what Hera and Kanan's overall goal of what they're doing. Also, cutting a deal with a mercenary or smuggler is not the same has infiltrating their base, blowing up their ships, kidnapping their commander and blackmailing them. Its just straight up extortion.

You said what the main thing was and then you quote Hera who said the exact opposite. Anyway in the episode they didn't start out infiltrating their base, blowing up their ships, kidnapping their commander and blackmailing them. They started out trying to cut a deal because they needed the hyperspace lane.

Yeah thats what Hera wanted, But Kanan went to that moon to get them to join the Rebels not just get a hyperspace route, Hera and Kanan are not the same person and Hera was out of the picture at that time. On top of this if Sabine didn't screw up by not putting an explosive on Fenn Rau's ship they would have never captured him and still would have only had a one time trip through that hyperspace lane. Which is what Commander Sato thought they were going to do after the chat they had that after Hera and the other A wings got shot to pieces to begin with. Logically since Fenn Rau doesn't want the Empire to take over his territory and he has no love for the Rebels he would let them through the his hyperspace lane "once" because he was captured and have his men and ships ready next time they come and wipe them out so he has no risk of the Empire finding out and also seeming to be a good investment to the Empire when he calls them up and says; hey guys i just killed a bunch of Rebels are we good to re up our contract for another six months? Its in his best interest to kill the Rebels at some point.
What i'm advocating is that these Rebels are being dumb for trying to work with these Mandalorians or even still being in this sector of the galaxy. They should just leave but becasue they don't have a big enough budget or the writers are lazy they're still futzing around in the Lothal system.

    From Star Wars.com:

"Sabine again comes into contact with her Mandalorian heritage in “The Protector of Concord Dawn.” In this episode, Sabine challenges Fenn Rau, the protector of a Mandalorian colony that Hera wishes to traverse, so as to find a safe hyperspace route to Lothal. Hera is wounded in dramatic fashion aboard her A-wing, and Sabine vows revenge. The juxtaposition between Sabine and Ezra is fascinating; both characters seek to protect their foster families, and both appear to have potentially sinister intent."

Agree that the above points are the most relevant of this episode, with respect to story arcs that could connect to The Clone Wars, and perhaps the new trilogy, and Rogue One.
Some folks are saying that Bo-Katan (Satine's sister) is the mother. That could be true, from a certain point of view. In Star Wars, the folks that raise you normally don’t share your bloodline. So, perhaps, Sabine's true bloodline is related to the Duchess. Yes, Satine died by the end of the Clone Wars, but since Sabine is 16 years old in Rebels, and the series is 15 years after Episode III, then Sabine could have been born a year prior to Episode III, before Satine's death.
The theory would mean that Satine gave birth to Kenobi’s daughter without Kenobi’s knowledge, to protect his career in the middle of Clone Wars. Who could have raised the daughter if Satine was dead? Bo-Katan would be the logical choice because the two sisters reconciled at the end. But why Sabine 16 years later mentions the traitor house Vizsla?

In Clone Wars, Pre Vizsla was the leader of the Mandalorian group called Death Watch, and in the previous episode “Shades of Reason”, it is clear that Bo-Katan was the second-in-command to Pre Vizsla. That is to say, she used to be at odds with her sister Satine at the beginning. But in the aftermath of Pre Vizsla’s death, it is implicit that Bo-Katan is the new leader of this faction, and the reconciliation with her sister was fully explicit.

This could explain three things: after the fall of the Duchess and the collapse of the Mandalorian world, (1) Bo-Katan may have been in charge of raising Sabine. (2) Bo-Katan introduced Sabine to the house Vizsla, ensuring she will be protected for the coming years. (3) Sabine learned fighting skills and mandalorian customs from her surrogate mother.

Sabine of course ignores her true bloodline. Although she was raised by her aunt, she would be a Kenobi, and the daughter of a Duchess, Satine of Mandalore. Good news! Sabine would be entitled to be a Disney Princess after all! Of course, along with her future sister-in-law Leia Organa.

If you think about it, there is a nice parallel with the Luke in Episode IV. He ignores hiss true bloodline and was raised by his aunt and uncle. So, perhaps, Sabine ends up being [*******]

Edit, I have intentionally removed my prediction as it relates to the new trilogy; but I think you can figure out what I mean. I have made a video about this theory and posted the link in another sub-forum if you're curious.

As long as you use spoiler tags to hide it there shouldn't be a problem with spoilers anywhere, I would think.

    I like your ideas here.
