So, I thought it would be interesting to share ideas for how things from the EU could be reinvented for the NEU.

I will start since I started this thread...

I would re-imagine every race, culture, and character introduced in Marvels original Star Wars run as denizens of the Firefist galaxy.

Do the Prequels count as EU?....har har. Anyway...ahem. My favorite EU is the Thrawn trilogy. So I would reimagine Thrawn as a threat for the new generation. Have a Mara Jade-like character, possiblly related to the Skywalkers or Kenobi. Get rid of all the cloned Jedi stuff.

REssurecting this thread with some new ideas.

The old republic Era should consist of 7000 years prior to the Ruusan Reformations (1000 years before TPM and thus putting the republic at 8000 years old at the time of the original films) This should give enough time to facilitate remakes of all of the classic stories that Star Wars fans have experienced with the EU.

The Sith of course need to be remade as being originally an order of Force Sensitives, but this is no reason to get rid of all of the classic sith stuff. The 100 year darkness, their exile, their origins could virtually be identical in this context. And there could even be a way to bring back the sith purebloods or sith race in a sense.

Simply have them be mutated humans that were created by the sith to serve as their original stormtroopers, they should be modeled after the purebloods from The old republic, and some inspiration could be taken from the mutate sithspawn that lord Malakite created. They would serve as the soldiers of the sith armies, and they could take a new name from any of the old sith castes from the EU, preferably Massassi, but maybe Kissai, or even Zuguruk.

This could be expanded as well, maybe as an explanation for the origins of some of the near-human races in the expanded universe. IT wouldn't hurt much to have the Nagai be the private army of Xoxaan would it? or the Chiss created by Exar Kun? These races going their own ways after the sith fall apart (those two were just examples btw, I wouldnt actually want the Chiss to be created by Exar Kun)

Another thing that could be done is to give some classic characters new life. How awesome... would it be, if they made Grand Admiral Thrawn... the new emperor of the empire? That would sure as heck be a good way to introduce Thrawn into the new continuity. Old fans of Star Wars would be happy, new fans wouldnt know better but they would be interested in the visually striking new emperor (just... hope he isn't played by Benedict Cumberbatch... I like Ben but it would be weird)

There's a couple lines in ROTS - "Once more the Sith will rule the Galaxy." and "The oppression of the Sith must never return."

As far as I can recall, there was never a point where the Sith were in control of the Galaxy in the EU. I wanna see, in future materials, something about that. The Sith ruling, maybe the Jedi fighting for freedom, the formation of the Old Republic. That would be awesome.

Wouldnt it be interesting, if the new version of the Jedi's origins was that they splintered off from the sith when the Sith ruled the galaxy? We know that in the new continuity the sith ruled coruscant once, and that there was a sith shrine where the Jedi Temple is now.
